CB and Rob, many thanks gents! started with the mud today. It turned out a bit different than I wanted, but it's still ok I think. Initially I wanted a more subtle mud effect, but it went on a bit too heavy. Dry mud was the first step: AK Interactive Earth Effects mixed with some plaster and sand was put in place: this simulates the dry mud, tomorrow I should add the wet mud. I didn't add mud to the skirts btw because somehow it doesn't seem to make sense that the outside of the skirts would have mud on them. let me know what you fellas think Cheers

Looks great Wouter. Been looking at this closer. The effects you've done are fantastic. The lower hull has some great earth weathering, the missing bin on the rear and exposed metal is right on. The primered Steal wheel is a good touch and adds some color and visual effects. All around sweet JP so far mate.

Damn good eye jackwagon. I was mainly looking at the rear plate. There it's pretty much good. Yeah a misting of dust to blend the clean plate and built up muck will be perfect.

Kick ass weathering Wouter I love the tracks, is there anyway you could talk a bit more in detail on how you did them?

Hi fellas, thanks a lot! Glad you like the mud so far, I was afraid to overdo it, very rare photos on the net on heavy muddy JP's or Panthers... jackwagon, you are absolutely right mate, but it ain't finished yet, I'll be adding some more mud and was going to tackle the front mud. Some wet mud will be added, hope to do that this evening. Thanks for the tip and eagle eyes btw ^^ Martyn, hi mate. Well, after paintwork I drybrushed Vallejo Steel on top of the tracks. After that I just dabbed on the mud mix. It dries very fast, and when dry, I dabbed it with an old toothbrush to get some structure in the mud. Basically that's it, same method was used on the running gear. Hope that helps, if not, tell me what more you want to know Cheers

wow Guy, many thanks, that's a big compliment!!!! added a second shade of mud today, together with some extra splatter to the backplate and sides. Some oil and grease effects was added to the back, front and wheels as well. a bit too much of the splattered mud effect meanwhile I lost a small lever of one of the casemate hatches ...need to cover that up, a small tarp or so I guess Anywhoo, I have the feeling she still misses something but can't point it out exactly...so if you fellas have some recomendations on the weathering front, please let me know Cheers

Hi mate, many thanks...glad you like it because I thought I might have overdone the mud about the lever...well, it's very very tiny and very thin and I don't think I have such thin plasticard in stock, not even mentioning my scratch abilities. I'll check my PE leftover stash and see what I can do though ^^ Cheers

That's looking pretty nice Wouter. As others have said, no, you didn't overdo the mud spatter. After really looking it over the only two things I might suggest are 1) the broken headlight housing - the inside of it should not be the same color as the body and shouldn't there be a couple broken wires in it , and 2) possibly filling in some of the track guide teeth with packed mud. I know both are little details, but I thought I'd mention them.
