Good Afternoon, Time : 12.10 PM Academy tracks set for Panzer IV Family - Low cost so affordable ! Those are come with Drive socket and Two types of Idler wheels . Track teeth surface - Looking nice. Academy snigle track test - won`t be fitting on Tamiya`s Drive socket. Academy single Track test fitting on Academy Drive Socket - no problem. Academy`s Idler Wheel is Details more than.... Tamiya joint on Academy Idler Wheels - No problem.... some getting bit strenye space inside of Idler wheel. Sort out of all parts move to Tools & equipment Group etc... Twin StuG Brother :-) Welder details... Tail light. Rear Fender RH & LH - been sanded down ready for PE. Hmmm PE Zimmerit drying joint on Hull side for Test sample seen okay.. but looking Not too deep of Zimmerit. I was looked out get ATAK Zimmerit but They won`t be make for Any 1/35 Kit Classic from year 2000 Before and else. I think about Zimmerit for something maybe putty paste or some else.. I looking out for Hints & Tips of Zimmerit.

Hey Jeremy, Great comparison on the tracks and sprockets as well as side by each progress getting things cleaned up! I am not an expert on all things Zimm, as I don't typically head down this path but there are a couple tools out there as well as making your own from what I have seen from old printer or electronic sprocket, micro screwdrivers, small saw blades (hacksaw or otherwise). Here are a couple of commercial brands: TamiyaLionRoar or Alt Sourcing LionRoarAFV ClubModelkastenGreat Mini SBS on the subject as well as the use of a mini blind gear for a tool. zimmerit-it.blogspot.com/ by Phil Appleyard. Depending on which application process of the Zimm was used on these I suppose would depend on the tool used........ not to mention what time frame, who did the application, if it was a Sunday...after 3 PM, sunny, rainy...blah blah blah...LOL!! Sorry, just rolled over a few bodies there that might jump out on the final look...just saying!! The one that seems to get the most attention and better reviews would be the LionRoar...plus it comes with the two type I believe. Good luck

looking good, for an old kit it has some nice details, in the past I've used a screw driver, pyrograve and various purpose built tools for zimmerit and all worked well. To be honest it's not the tools so much as the type of putty and thickness of putty applied that is important. As zimm was applied by hand in the factories and probably under some pressure to get the tanks out to the front lines there must be variations on thickness and neatness of application. In fact studying pictures you can see some really rough applications as well as really tidy ones.

The twins are coming along nicely Jeremy, the others have given you all the necessary links/pointers on doing your own zim if you're so-inclined.

Bigjohn, Thanks.
Chris S, Yes Zimmerit coat paste is better than PE... I keeping PE zimmerit throw in my Spare box for scratch-built in the future.
