I cleaned the parts, degreased them two times and applied a first coat of paint used as a primer layer. I've tried to spray very fine mists and not cover the entire bust with a skin of paint. The result looks satin and feels smooth.
This looks like a base that sticks well onto the resin. We'll see if it holds during the next treatments.
Stay tuned on this one fellas...going to get a bit crowded but will be a bunch of fun!! Call-sign on this thread will change soon as it will be moved to the "Duels" section of the site...G, Andy and myself will partake in a little figure madness and have a three-way duel of sorts using some selections from the Young Miniature's collection....keep a watchful eye open!!
Folks, I just switched the call sign on this thread to reflect what is happening here. AG has inspired Andy and myself to "try the Koolaid" here with the building of some 1/10 Scale Young Miniature sculptures. This will of course work the same as any of the other Duels we have had and of course are having here on MSC.
I need to thank Mr. Spalding for the name "The Three Amigos"! This seemed fitting in more ways than one! Plus we like to blame him for just about everything....I think he enjoys it too!!.
So with that, I will G get back to making his update on where he is and a little bit later on Andy and I will pop up a pic or two of what we will have a go at!!
Thanks G and Mr T for the inspiration. I have been struggling to finish my DUKW... am afraid I left my mojo back in Wyoming or Utah. Figured I need a break from armors and start this bust that I have been itchin' to do since the day it came in the mail. Here's my bust...
German Feldgendarmerie with Friend... 100 kit limited edition.
It was given to my wife on Mother's Day as a joke because she loves dogs more than me...
Guys, clam down... I did get her few other gifts too! Anyway, it arrived well and securely packed between foams.
Will post an update soon as I have started it last night.
