That's some sharp work on the #1 turret Adam, got to love the detail on those floatplanes as well, that's amazing for 1/350!

Great process on the Mo! Now I am tempted... I am so torn between Arizona, Bismarck and now Mo as my first ship build. Thanks for making my life more complicated... Glad I could be of assistance! What I've found so far is that building the ship is no more or less complicated than any other model, all the skills used are the same. Can I request that you build the Arizona? Lots of Bismarcks being built these days but not too many Arizona's.

Adam- I like Bis because of its split camo and flag on both ends. Guess I will just flip the coin when it is time... LOL
Mr T- Not bad idea... one day we all can do a duel with a ship from each nation. I like what you are thinking... of course NOT NOW!!! Unless you can spare us your little helpers.

Dicky, with enough Evergreen could you scratch a 1/35 BisMoZona?

A BisMoZona in 1/35, now that would be something to see! Of course you'd have to get it its own house...now in 1/350...that would be another story.

I haven't done the scale conversions to the 1/35 so I'm not exactly certain but I think that might be big enough for at least a few people to live on. haha

23 1/2 feet if you go with the Bis as the base....WOW! I want!!! Not necessarily to paint 2200+ 1/35 figures...

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words! Having you along makes the journey that much more enjoyable! I do have a bit of a small a small update and a question for you guys. First the update... I have been extremely afraid to commit drilling out the holes in the hull for the base etc. My fear was that I would add/subtract/drill the holes in the wrong place and end up messing up the hull. Well today after work I decided to go for it. The big inspiration being I ordered the paints for this. In short, the hull is 30 inches long, and the base is 20. The two pillars sit exactly 10 inches apart at 1/3 and 2/3 intervals. On the base they sit at 5 inches and 15 inches. So, this is how she will sit on the base: (I know some of you may be thinking, "Adam, you really should have a base longer than the ship." But, personally I think the shorter piece of wood allows the viewer to see more of the bottom of the boat. Which I like, so . Now on to my question... The bow of the boat has this molded spot in it which I think, but am not sure, is supposed to represent the hole for the bow anchor chain/line. Maybe it's my research skills stink but I can't seem to find a reference picture anywhere that shows this as being there. If you look at the front of the boat below, it seams as if the bow should be drilled out, which also seams to be correct to me references. So my question is this: Should I fill the gap on the deck and drill out the bow line hole? Something along the angle below? Or am I supposed to do something else? Thanks for following and the help!

Excellent progression Adam!! The left finial is off .0001mm to the left Messing with ya...I would expect nothing less form you my friend!!! As for the Hawse hole on the bow...Hole! You are doing her with the wells on the front, yeah? Showing the well in place and seeing daylight" for discussion purposes only For discussion purposes only for discussion purposes only Shows this goes all the way through. The first picture show that there is a small lip around the hole. With the well installed we might have to assume the same and that there would be access at the bottom just aft the well as the well straddles the hole You may want to fit a piece of tubing...brass/aluminum/styrene into the hole so it fille the gap and then file/sand so it has that lip that you see and then knurl out the bottom with a round needle file to get the slope. for discussion purposes only

T, if I'm understanding you correctly I leave the area in my first picture of the bow alone and just drillbout the bow correct?

Drill out the oval. You may have to add somthing to conceil the opening to the inside. These two are connected so, it may be easier to slide a piece of tubing into the hole and project out the front! I will crack my kit when I get home and have a good look at this section...together we will figure it out!!!

Personally I like the shorter base...plus it will make it easier to store/display when you're done, giving you more flexibility in that department.

Thanks guys! I took a small break on the Mo' this weekend to do some work on the Bradley. I'm working on getting that finished up for AMPS East in September, shouldn't take me away from the Mo' for too long though.

Greetings Adam, There is a lot of really good work going on here. Not to mention the reference pics. Seeing these builds has me looking at my stash and, thinking....."where could I stash a few ship kits?" Keep up the solid work. Enjoy your wee one. They do grow fast. I've got four of my own...22, 19, and 14 year old twins. It goes by quickly. Dave
