store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/tam60324.htm So,what do you guys think of the $159.00 Tamiya Corsair.I have always been a "everything has gone up in price" and "you pay for what you get" and "If you dont like it,don't buy it" guy But to me,this is way out of line for a 1/32 prop a/c,Is it worth it ? maybe, but I definitly can't go there for that price.I guess everybody has their limit.I plunked down $219.00 for Akagi and $ 120. for CVL-22 but I wouldn't do it for this one even if I wanted it. So who is putting out that much for this ? (not a critisicm of those who do,we spend on what we want) but just curious if this one is starting to touch the spending ceiling.

I have a passion for modelling and love buying kits but i think this is just a little too much to spend i have seen sprue shots of this and the detail is absolutely incredible but i think you could recreate some of this detail on a cheaper version and have more fun doing it but on the other hand if you buy a wingy kit and all of the upgrade options i think there would not be too much of a difference in the price as aftermaket parts get quite expensive so its down to the individual in the end and if you cam stretch your budget then why not if i had the money time and ability to build this kit then i would have it for certain. I reckon the price may settle a bit after the novelty wears off, it did with the Mustangs.
If you can be patient, you may find them for a bit less in a few months...

Tamiya isn't going to yank this one from production to try to artificially inflate the price, so you should be ok if you wait a bit. Lucky Model has it for $103, so that should give you an idea of what it should 'really' be priced at before shipping is taken into consideration. Sprue Bros isn't the highest, it's going other places at $180 or more!

I know Sprue Bros are offering a discount on the MRP,but at current exchange rate it works out at just under 105GBP.....Last time I went to a show here, the MkXVIc Spit from Tammy was still getting sold for 115GBP,or more!!

Currently listed on HLJ for around US$95. www.hlj.com/product/TAM60324/AirDunno what the postage would be to the US, but it's pretty good to Australia from Japan. I buy from HLJ pretty regularly, and am very happy with the service and prices. I would have the same kit landed on my doorstep for well under $160! The Tamiya Mk IX Spittie and P-51D are both listed for around US$80. Nice....... Cheers, Sam

LOL I'm also a bit undecided yet. Already have the Trumpy with lots of AM goodies, but would love to do two different paint schemes. One overall blue and the other grey/light/dark blue... Oh, and the Trumpeter Intruder would be also nice, but boy, that one is really expensive. Some 140.-€, and it's not even Tamiya! Cheers, Tobi
