Today I have learnt..Don't put the fibre optics till last as everything ever seems to make them brittle.. Attachment DeletedThey're held in with PVA so tempted to give it a hot bath ad try to replace the fibres. I decided to paint the seat as it's too fragile to add more detail. Everytime i pick it up aother fibre goes. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Having said all that at least one fibre in every hole has survived, which is nice. Attachment Deleted

I wasn't happy with all the broken optics so i've remade the steering column. This time i'm going to detail and paint it all first, then do the optics last. Once i'd made the column I skinned it with really thin plasticard to neaten it all up Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Hurrah. Got a new laptop with a fully functioning keyboard, so I can even use the letter N. I found an old speaker from a phone or something similar the other day. There's a plastic cover in it which will do nicely as the turbine blades. Attachment Deleted I'm going to paint a translucent red and light it. Up in the roof I've extended the roof console out along the front. Again lit. For the displays I'm borrowing from Star Wars techniques. I've cut some photo negatives to size and then scratch off some of the (insert correct word here) and painted in where it is now clear.

I've finally started on the arse end. I've wimped out of cutting it up, so i'm just building over it. This is as far as i've got so far. I'm happy with the basic shape but lots of detail to add. The pipework across the top replaces the wopping great block of plastic that was originally there. I'm hoping that i can fit the wings to the top of the new section. That way i can keep it as a self contained sub assembly. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Despair sets in. After much careful study I've come to the conclusion that ALL of the wing thingies at the back are massively over scale. They're actually quite delicate on the real thing. so, if any one knows how to make small aerofoil sections, please , please tell me.Perferably one that doesn't ivolve hours of sanding, and you will my eternaal gratitude..And cheers for the words of support. It them that make me stride confidently past my talent limit and discover what I can really do. Ta

Can't help you with the airfoil dilemma KP, but don't despair! You'll find a solution I'm sure.

Hurrah. It turns out that the aerofoil sections are much quicker and easier than I thought. I cannot tell you how happy I am. I found where I'd put me small files so the basic shape was easy. Now all I need is a bigger selection of wet n dry so i can smooth it properly. That will happen when funds allow.

I also found a roll of fence panel wire. It's the perfect size and better still, all I have to do is trim the insulation off to make it look hydraulic. I've drilled into the upper surface, cut a small bit if insulation off and it sits perfectly in the holes. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Cheers. I will be back soon, but i've just got my one new game of the year. Splinter Cell Blacklist this year. So, once i've stealthily slaughtered my way around the world, I'll be back. And as for Affleck, the man can act so i'm reserving judgement till i've seen it. After all Clooney should have been an amazing Batman. It all depends on the script.

Thats the new skin covering where I had butchered it, badly. I've started on reskin now. All of the front aero pieces are solid and look like blocks, so out comes the plasticard.
