Ya know, we all go to bed at night knowing certain things. The sun will rise, the sun will set, the sky is blue, and Bill builds tanks. I have no idea what drew me to the ship forum since I don't think I have ever been here before. And what do I find? A ship thread with Bill's name in the title. I had to look out the window to look at the sky. It's still blue... for now. I feel as Malachi Constant in "The Sirens of Titan" finding out the the whole of the human experience has been manipulated by powers beyond our control. Now what do I do? Oh and BTW... KICK ARSE job on the boat Bill.

Thanks MF and Jeremy! Luigi, that one doesn't require a whole lot of stretch to cover! Marc, never fear, just a temporary shift in the earth's magnetic field is to blame. Things will return to normal shortly! Glad you stopped in when you did.

Top notch work Bill. Really love how this turned out. Will be looking for a cruiser or Destroyer at the show this week. Got the floaty fever after seeing this. I promise not to lose the instructions this time.
Now get back to the German armor..

Sounds like a good plan Rob! Go for the cruiser, they get all the chicks. Gazing at the stash closet even as we speak pondering the future...

Andy, you've got a good nose! I was mixing up some new paint just last night. BJ, glad you like how it turned out. No Sherman this time around but at least the next victim will be in Normandy! Bruce, thanks as well! Now it's time to return to a 'normal' scale.

I smell dark yellow this time... Andy? Are you sure it's paint you're smelling? Yes I know, back to the Gulag School of Charm for me. Bill, That is an outstanding ship you have there. The figures I feel are a necessary evil. they do give a sense of scale to this beastie as not everybody has seen a warship up close and personal. Staying tuned for what's next. Dave

Thanks Dave! I was truly impressed with Dragon's molding all around on this kit but the figures really took the cake. Under magnification you can see the Captain's binoculars for example clearly defined and the other crewman's belt has a buckle!

Please tell me you didn't paint the eyes. That is some incredible detail. Dave

Dave, there are limits to everyone's level of insanity. I can confirm with 100% confidence that I did not even consider, let alone attempt, painting eyes on 1/350 scale figures. Wouts, thanks! I had a lot of fun with it but have now returned to the usual arena of German armor. I will say though that it's given me a new-found appreciation for working with the Optivisor. Definitely something I will be using more even on 1/35 subjects.

Thanks Boo! Glad you found your way here in the end. I thoroughly enjoyed working on it, definitely gave me a renewed appreciation for working in the smaller scales.
