This is simply stunning Phil - amongst the best builds I've seen on MSC and that's saying a lot - such an extensive conversion from the early stages hacking that hull up and transplanting the new stuff - very cool and brilliantly executed fella...what makes it doubly impressive is that it's been far from straightforward and has fought you much of the way, but yer've worked thru it all and the result so far is jaw-dropping my friend! I can't wait to see the weathering on this great build Wow! Thanks Dicky, comming from you it is a honor Now you just gonna make me cry This build is just a reflection of what you guys taught me since I joined, not just the technique but the fun and what the hobby is all about: Sharing the passion, the knowledge and the laugh! Luigi, Bill, Jeff and Gary cause I know he is always around Thx mates you are all the reason I am doing this with so much fun. Not sure I would without you all hehe! Turret is pinwashed, U/D tomorrow morning before going to work. You guys Rock!!!!!!!!

Hi Danb, I have been thinking about this lead covering for a while now and have just thought of this. Maybe if you take magic sculp or some other type of putty and add a layer of tissue or cloth underneath it, this could be rolled out between two pieces of 0.8mm plastic card to get the correct thickness. When this is done cut slabs out and add to the turret, to get the large attachment points you'd need to drill through the putty when dry with a flattened drill bit and add the bolt heads later.
I have an obsolete Trumpeter T55 turret and I think I'll try this out. Just need some putty, I'll keep you informed.

Phil that is just super . Thanks for the tip about this joint, you told me about it so you will have to answer for everything else Paul No sweat Paul! Every chaps here is first rate! Luigi May i say: OH YEAH! But don't tell the wife Thanks for the good words bro.
Andy I forgive you mate...I was also distracted.... for a short while of course Gary my friend Always glad you like the padawan's work, thanks. Dan The miniarm turret is obviously less work than the putty. That said, I had some issues with it: One of the tool box was unusable (resine would not cure, poor mixing) and a couple of small pieces were broken. But it still looks kick ass! You could just wait for the trumpy offering that I seem to hear...don't know if it is founded tough Anyhooo Thanks for all your fine coments gentlemens MSCers! More soon!
