I've only done 3 or 4 sets of Friuls so far...but NONE of them would go together without a pre-drilling to insert the pins. I even replace the Friul-supplied wire with .020 brass rod.

Steel! I like Friuls so much, I'll build a particular model just so that I can use them (three Tigers come to mind) and after drilling or cleaning holes a couple of times, figured out that a piece of steel wire applied with a slight twist was a "drill", and got pretty happy with them. I have a butt-load of Friul wire hanging around. Makes good grab-handles and such.

Thanks people!! The important is to strech the wire and using pliers to push as close from the track possible. I did not have a lot of time this week-end since I was up there, her I am takin a break and enjoying the nice fall weather! escalade2013.11 par asmodeuss, sur Flickr I did manage to finish one side of the delightfull fruils: fruils02 par asmodeuss, sur Flickr I obviously break off the mud scraper .....No biggie Phil

"Friuls make the world go 'round, the world go 'round......" sorry. There are times when I get a set of Friuls on and want to stop right there, they look soooo good. Although I have an Academy Hellcat built up far enough to fit the Friuls and it was such an agonizing experience I stopped right there to avoid trashing the whole thing. That was about four years ago, and I still haven't gotten back to it. Some sets are very well done (KVs, T55, T72, KT, Merkava all come to mind) but the links for the M18 are almost too small for the pins, and they were heavily flashed. Argh. Phil, you're now at the point where I sometimes find myself gazing at the model in a semi-trance......

Luigi, my friend! Take them as a zen challenge and don`t try to finish them at once...You`ll go nuts for sure hehe Gary, mon cher jumeau cosmique! Franx a lottsa! To get this fit I had to remove one link...had glued the pin, that was some sport. rBaer, make sure to add t72 to your list of good fruils, panther late are quite good also. I did not encounter serious flash yet...Maybe I`ll have a surprise in the other bag! As for the gazing part...Yep right on there bro! Andy, do not worry my friend all security have redondency. As for the freight of heights ....well that would be a problem hehehe. Thanks for the kill tutu compliment, kind of the best award on MSC! The pink kill tutut medal. Bill, yep, one to go...one looooong track to go...Fruils: worth the pain! Dicky, well yer mighty fine commentation shall motivate myself for a secondary shot at the fruilification More soon people!!!! Phil.
