Well, given I haven't decided yet if the shermie is finished or not (I think I'll have to add some more layers on it), I decided to get back to building. So, first of all, for Andy's happiness, I cleaned my bench. Oh, well, sort of, you guys know me And I immediately reverted my attention to a new project. It's been a long time I wanted to do something modern, and during my researches I stumbled upon Czech spring of 1968. Yes, the second soviet invasion of a "dissenting" allie. This pic hit me at the stomach. It shows a common man stunned by the events that sees a huge tank platoon passing by his side. So I decided to crack this one open: One of the options, tank 963, is one of Bratislava's invaders, so I'll only have to add the white invasion stripes. It's nice to smell glue in the evening

Another Czech related dio?! Count me in! Born and raised in the former GDR - close to the Czech border - such stuff is always welcome! Need civilian figures in 1/35?! Try KV Models, MiniArt and/or MasterBox. Now go and build something

Robbo and Lucas, thanks a lot. I hope you'll enjoy this build There are two other pics that inspired me, and they will be probably the base of the upcoming scene: Lucas thanks for the suggestion, I'll browse KV Models civilian figures for some suitable ones

Civilian figures are a bit hard to find... While I was building my "Grosser Hund" dio* I needed loads of them. Took a while. Here are some figure sets that were bought - just a suggestion of course: www.google.de/imgres?q=civilian+figures+1/35&biw=1920&bih=976&tbm=isch&tbnid=Rh0h2Z2eJiXdfM:&imgrefurl=http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail%3Fgcode%3DTOY-SCL2-16304%26page%3Dtop%252Fsearch%252Flist%253Fs_seriestitle%253DUkraine%2BMaster%2BBox%2524pagemax%253D30%2524getcnt%253D0%2524pagecnt%253D1&docid=YgKwMYz0zCaT4M&imgurl=http://img.amiami.jp/images/product/main/124/TOY-SCL2-16304.jpg&w=360&h=248&ei=ycU0Ur-6HKKI4ATczYCoCA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=1459&vpy=568&dur=614&hovh=186&hovw=271&tx=104&ty=124&page=2&tbnh=132&tbnw=191&start=64&ndsp=65&ved=1t:429,r:94,s:0,i:367 www.google.de/imgres?q=civilian+figures+1/35&biw=1920&bih=976&tbm=isch&tbnid=PbGTDV8GVFuk4M:&imgrefurl=http://www.cyber-hobby.com/shop/index.php%3Fmain_page%3Dproduct_info%26products_id%3D9466&docid=XvHZyk4sindCYM&imgurl=http://www.cyber-hobby.com/shop/images/modelkits/MiniArt35086.jpg&w=1883&h=1181&ei=qsY0Uuq_E-iK4AT3xoGoAw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=99&vpy=225&dur=1142&hovh=178&hovw=284&tx=208&ty=76&page=1&tbnh=137&tbnw=219&start=0&ndsp=64&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0,i:83 www.google.de/imgres?q=civilian+figures+1/35&start=286&biw=1920&bih=976&tbm=isch&tbnid=CMNXtCcpZ4Ie3M:&imgrefurl=http://www.lonesentry.com/blog/bronco-italian-light-civilian-car.html&docid=Y2ZpEGpuvTvcIM&imgurl=http://www.lonesentry.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/bronco-civilian-car.jpg&w=600&h=380&ei=ysY0UpuAEurS4QSt4IHwDw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=815&vpy=306&dur=3648&hovh=179&hovw=282&tx=116&ty=136&page=5&tbnh=131&tbnw=200&ndsp=69&ved=1t:429,r:91,s:200,i:277 www.google.de/imgres?q=civilian+figures+1/35&biw=1920&bih=976&tbm=isch&tbnid=uK_ZdjwPdSAp9M:&imgrefurl=http://www.militarymodelling.com/news/article/civilians-waving-at-the-roadside-in-1-35/7102&docid=qCvK2kPrrgmOEM&imgurl=http://www.militarymodelling.com/sites/1/images/member_albums/42220/preiserwavingcivilians%252520%281%29.jpg&w=768&h=946&ei=qsY0Uuq_E-iK4AT3xoGoAw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=4&vpy=189&dur=2650&hovh=249&hovw=202&tx=47&ty=162&page=1&tbnh=137&tbnw=110&start=0&ndsp=64&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0,i:80 and my two favourites... especially the little guy is so neat: www.google.de/imgres?q=civilian+figures+1/35&biw=1920&bih=976&tbm=isch&tbnid=zXLutO2OhX9KNM:&imgrefurl=http://militarymodels.co.nz/tag/135-civilian-figures/&docid=WrhjRFBipY3NEM&imgurl=http://militarymodels.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/MB-West-Euro-Civies-2.jpg&w=512&h=759&ei=qsY0Uuq_E-iK4AT3xoGoAw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=665&vpy=177&dur=880&hovh=273&hovw=184&tx=95&ty=146&page=1&tbnh=137&tbnw=91&start=0&ndsp=64&ved=1t:429,r:4,s:0,i:92

Lucas, thanks a lot. The last one looks great. I also found another Preiser set that could be right, but I'll start from the tank and then think about the figures. Can you point me to a KV Models catalogue? Jeff, welcome aboard. I hope to be faster than usual on this one

Here's the first update: I assembled the first twelve pieces. I'm trying to find out what's the right piece to use for the underside of the front glacis, as there are two different options and the pics aren't clear. I hope to have a new update very soon... As always ACW

Here you are the small update. I had very little bench time this evening, my wife's working and I had to cook dinner Somehow I managed to finish all the suspensions, that are very well represented. Tomoz I hope to be able to finish the underside of the hull and pass to the upper part. As always ACW

Size of the bench is not all it's cracked up to be!! More space means more unfinished kits and a bigger mess!!! Trust me!! You are off to a stellar beginning there Luigi!! I'm in for sure!!

Thanks a lot, Todd. I hope to get some more space during this winter, as it can be sometimes frustrating to work with so little space around
