And now, finally, the update. I went on doing the hull. First I corrected the stance of the added tank: This way it looks more like the pics I'm using as reference. Then I did all the pipework for the "standard" tanks: In the second pic, the lower pipe is running a little too high, I lowered it right after. And this is what it looks like now: Hope you like it, as always all comments and critiques are warmly welcome

Nice plumbing work Luigi! Looking back I wish I'd have done the plumbing on mine. LOL, all the more reason to get another one!

Bruce, Bill, Carl thanks a lot my friends. Today I will add some more little details and I will tackle the protective cage for the front lights. The one that comes with the kit is a little too thick and I will try to do one in brass wire. Again, thanks for looking

Deano and Leon, thanks a lot. There's still the plumbing for the fourth tank to do, and that's the real challenge. I can't find a pic that shows where it ends...

Thanks a lot Guy And here you are the new update: I went on building the turret, as all I have to add to the hull has to be postponed after the wheels will be assembled. This is the state it's in right now: The mantlet and the gun are dry fit, I'm deciding if I have to use the one with the tarp or the other without tarp. As always ACW

Nice job on the frying-pan turret Luigi, looks like you're getting some good chunks of time to keep this one moving along steadily.

Excellent project! Great work and the Trumpeter kit is in a totally different league to the awful Tamiya kit that I am doing. Warts and all. Czechoslovakia 1968 must be one of the most photographed events of the Cold War era. Such significant times and awe inspiring.
Good work.

Bruce, thanks a lot Dicky, I was attracted by this peculiar one because of the unusual arrangement. Dunno where those pipes ended, there's no clear pic of them, but surely it was a strange place to put them. The box below is the toolbox, so they'd have had a lot of trouble if they needed them. Bill, yep I had some freetime during this week. Unfortunately I won't have it the next week... Grahame, thanks for joining in. Trumpy's T-62 series are great kits. They're accurate in shape and size, filled with crisp details and shiny parts, they almost need no aftermarket to get a good result. And they're really inexpensive compared to most mainstream state-of-the-art kits. After looking several pics, I decided to go with the tarp mantel, so later I'll glue everything together. I hope to have some progress this afternoon.

oh man, this looks cool. And if I see how cool you did the piping for the fuel cells, I'm a bit ashamed with the simplistic result I got Well done mate, and glad to see the turret fitted! Cheers

Looking great Luigi! Did yours have any fit issues getting the turret in the hull? Looks like it's sitting good. I had to do a lot of trimming on the hull of mine and wound up taking too much off. I didn't want to glue my turret in so it's held in place by some Blue Tac!

Wouter, it's something easy to solve: do another T-62 It was so good that a second one will surely be a real treat John, thanks a lot. As I was telling Wouts on FB, I had no issue at all joining turret and hull. I will mask the attachment poits, though, as the join has no margin at all. BTW, some friends are telling me that the wheels tend to have a too loose fit on the axles. Is it correct? If so, how did you manage to address this problem?

Deano, russians thought that a swarm of fast, heavily armed, low profile tanks was the best tactic. They developed it with success during WW2 with T-34, the evolved it with T-55 and this lead to the actual T-90. They weren't designed to be pretty or comfy, but they were superior to the Nato opponents.
Carl I agree with you, the gun gives it the right look.

The wheels on mine fit pretty well. Some a bit tight some just a bit loose. The front return roller was very very loose and the drive sprocket was pretty tight. I just sanded down the pin for the drive sprocket to get a better fit. The return roller was put on with super glue when I put it and the tracks on. I'm hoping the super glue holds a few years. I probably should have just tried to find some plastic rod and made a bushing for the return roller.
