Really like how yours turned out Rick! Hope mine turns out as well. Currently putting together some of the PE parts and getting them ready to install. Hope to do the salt method on the hull and deck areas to give it a little chipping above the water line.

Know it's been awhile, but finished up the hull and re-primered. Just put on the salt mix.
Can't wait till she dries to start the masking and grey paint.

Nice result, Bruce. As Andy said, gotta try salt technique on a real model sooner or later...

Very nice. I have the kit too. I usually do 1/700 and 1/350 aircraft carriers - esp Essex class as I served on USS ESSEX in the early 60's. Bought the LCM to do something different. Where did you get the PE?

Thanks guys. EJ the PE is Eduard LCM 3 Structural 35 746 and 35 735 as well as Model Tech Republics set. Also bought the LCM Crew, all from Red Frog Hobbies. Cleaned up the rust with White Spirit, but haven't taken any pics yet.

Thank you for the info. I've ordered the two Eduard sets and the figures, but couldn't determine what the "Model Tech Republics set" was nor was able to find it on the Red Frog site. What's in the set? Do you consider it important to the build?
Thanks for your assistance.

Sorry EJ, believe that PE is the kit 35 735. There wasn't a third.

You are very welcome EJ. Put the first coat on the crew and took off a little rust with White Spirit.
Also the first coat of rust on the Pylons.
