Okay, since my idea of a Halloween Group Build didn't excite anyone, I will proceed to build this for Halloween 2013.  The very original kit had just the skeleton poured in the 'Glow-In-The-Dark' styrene but I believe in an effort to cut cost, they poured it all in the stuff so we have to paint it anyway. Rocks don't glow!   I've wanted one of these kits again for YEARS and when this became available I jumped in with both feet. This should only take a few days so it'll be ready for Halloween... just like my last skeleton project was.   Jeff |

Okay, I finally got a start on it last night. WEEEEEEEEEEeeeee! (no, I'm not REALLY having that much fun)  I sanded most of the parts to be painted so this is how far it is.  So, slap some paint down and while it's drying I'll hop on the KV, IS and Japanese tanks!  Jeff |

Okay... made some progress even though it was a rough day today.  I originally painted the shirt Desert Sand but had to go get some Khaki instead. Olive Drab pants and you kinda get the idea.  A little more painting and touch-ups and it should be finished soon! Jeff |

Those parts are surprisingly good, I bet you spent a while cleaning them up ? Paint will bring it all to life... Just in time for Halloween |

Thanks guys! I do have the base partially painted but didn't take any pictures. I need to do some weathering and touch-ups before I show it off. No work today but plenty of thinking what to do next. Jeff |

Dang Jeff, who new you were a awesome figu.......ummm....Skeleton Painter! Looks great my friend. As long as I don't have to paint any flesh... right? But that will all change as I have been stocking up on skin colored paints and my Japanese tank will be the first victim. And some righteous brushes too. Yeah, I built most of the AURORA kits mainly because they were an exclusive subject but they were cheaper than the Tamiya armor kits too. Let's see, the American Bison, the Forgotten Prisoner, all those 1/48 armor kits with the neat diorama base and the decal stating what it was you stuck on front. I'm doing this a little different than the instructions and the fact that it was ALL a glow in the dark pouring... painting had to be done too. Oh well, it is what it is. I should be done by Saturday as paint is drying now. Jeff |

Okay, making the big push today...  But was met with some unexpected results. I wanted to add some 'depth' to the heads by making them dark inside. I first tried some black construction paper but then when viewing it at an angle THAT didn't work. So... I painted inside the heads with a black paint and now they are much darker than the arms and legs! ARGH!!!  Now, to finish the base I must come up with what to do with the bars. Do I leave the background to glow and paint the bars or paint the background black and leave the bars to glow?   Anyway, it's been a lot of fun and hope to wrap it up today... or not.
