Thnx folks! Me too.  At this moment I miss a specific eyecatcher. So although I'm glad with the painting result it's not finished yet since I will add a figure and a complete setting. When selecting pics for my website/forums it was quite hard to choose the "rights" ones since I missed something in the form of an eye catcher. So I have to wait for the 3D printed frame & a nice figure to complete the setting. Even for me the end result is always a little surprise since I never make dio sketches in an early stage. Marcel. |

Thnx folks! Thnx Gary! Overweathering is always a trap when painting. I don't like overweathered vehicles either so I'm happy with this paint result myself. Just picked up 5 printed parts of a total of 7. I'm quite thrilled with this printed result and the way I approach modeling has changed since this offers new opportunities. Still the structure of the printed parts is a bit granular but can be removed by rubbing with a finger and probably loads of other "rubbing" tools. I leave this structure since it's a perfect structure for a rusted wrecked airframe. The large horizontal parts was not 100% perfect printed. A little bit of a rib was missing on the right edge. (left on the pic) But since it's a wreck it's okay. A quick dryfit:  Details:    More pics at the bottom of the page. Next => dio planning.... See ya, Marcel. |

That tail section looks outstanding, but be careful with "rusted" airframe (aluminium?).

Well, aluminium can corrode as well and tends to develop a flat white protection patina if untreated.
I admit in your photo it looks rusted. Maybe the airframe was steel and only the planking aluminium?

Thnx folks, I'm glad you like it. Just googled some material specs. and watched some Youtube movs and this plane was made of canvas, wood & different kinds of steel. Just like we use to build; a multimedia kit.  Thnx Guy! I always wanted to do some complementary coloring on a vehicle and a "blue-ish grey" vehicle underneath a "yellow-ish" was perfect for this job. Und jetz... dio planning. Marcel. |

Since the frame required 0,5 mm ribs (on 1/32 scale) I had to use frosted detail plastics. The total cost is around € 50,- for the 7 parts. That's not cheap but you get a very exclusive model. The horizontal span is 20 centimeter inlcusing elevators and the height of the vertical stabilizer is 6 centimeter. (So it's quite big) Check the pic, this is without the body part which costs €12,-  Bye, Marcel. |

Figure gives you the perfect scale reference for this one. Almost a shame to cut that frame but I suppose it IS a wreck after all.
