You're back to work with a vengeance today Carl! Nice to see the engine installed in position. Nothing like a little garden-variety dirt to liven things up a bit on that undercarriage.

Excellent job as to your usual high standard Carl! The color variations on the manifolds and the oil and grease deposits are looking great!

Ok guys I want you all to know its a pleasure reading your comments ! I hope to keep the updates interesting to you all .
Wouts , you know I do feel as if i'm doing a 3D painting .
Andy A. I'm certainly glad to read you like it .
Pete , then I have succeeded in my realism attempt .
Tony , your correct . I have looked at that and considered doing it but I hold back cause I put the time and effort into the exhaust pipe rustation and I like the results ........therefore it will be difficult to dirt them up ...... but alas I know it must be done . Later though .
Marcel , good of you to leave those kind comments .
Lui , good to know you like the look of the oil runs . It kinda turned out that way unexpectedly .I was actually after a more blended look but I let the oils set up to long . The result is now included in my mental "how to do it" list .
Nems , appreciate the comment........Gawd ! Must of been a gnarly bunch of kids ! I actually was bald in school but I had my 'stache by age 10 , brown back then .........started growing it in 4th grade after I stated chewing roofing tar ! Ya , lucky kiddo that she aint taking after my grumpy looking side of the family . What a blessing that is .
Tobi ,much appreciated . I'm still getting a handle on the process .
Deano , and its certainly a pleasure to post the updates !

Well , the above was partially true ........don't want you to think I had a 'stach at age 10 , maybe it was 15 ..but I did used to chew roofing tar .........Arrrrrrrrrrr !

Ok , some kinda update is due you guys . I stuffed the tires with wetted toilet tissue ..... ....I know it sounds yuckish but it was the clean stuff . Eddy had mentioned using putty to keep the vinyle tires stiffened but I took my own path and came up with this flushing idea ........... It worked anyways . I finally got the tracks wrapped around the running gear . Had a difficult time keeping the delicate links together . I busted a few of the connecting pins off after I did my oil wash on them . I think the thinner weakened the plastic . I fixed all of them with small pins made of fine copper wire and then handled the tracks much more carefully .Added valve stems and caps to the wheels . Test fitted the cab on the gun deck . Weird looking thing . That's what caught my eye bout this ..was the strange looking cab.

TP-reinforced wheels...new meaning to the term 'white walls' eh? As for the cats in your sand-pile, you just need a good sifter. Making good progress here Carl, thinner can make some plastic brittle depending, sounds like that may have done in some of your pins. Nice fix though with the replacement rods.

Great job so far, I have one question: on the last photo it seems that the radiator housing is leaning forward or is that an illusion by the angle of the photo? perhaps when you put the armored plates around it it is Ok

Hi Carl
Nice little tip on stiffening the sidewalls
Are you gonna paint the tyres or just weather the rubber ?

Hi there my friends ! Another good day for everyone here me hopes ! Eddy , I took another look and it appears straight on the model . Its gotta be an illusion due to the angle and the macro setting . Thanks for looking out for me my friend . sometimes that kinda stuff does happen . Pete , I gotta give Eddy some of the credit for that one . Keith , good , that pleases me . Rob , thanks boss. Los , I painted the tires after they were mounted . I masked the wheels and sprayed them with XF-1 .I didn't paint them before mounting on the wheels as I have had trouble with messing up the paint while getting them around the wheels .HTO my friend . Leon , thanks . Good stuff aye ?

After mounting the wheel'n tires and mixed up some garden mud ( not cat additives ) and was up into the wee late hrs last night/ this mornin trying to get the right look . Who'd of thunk smearing mud would take so much time ? Let me know what you think as I am not sure i'm satisfied with the results yet .

To mud or not to mud, that is the question! I suppose it all goes down to the context you want to create with it Carl, that should dictate what is the 'right' level of muddification to apply in this case.
