Yes I have done the chassis Carl and the engine and trans, although I havnt added any pipework yet.I did want to do it out of the box as I have been doing a famo and I went all out on detailing that and that stopped me finishing it.I am glad you think the tracks are great as I hate doing tracks,so boring for me.In fact I am not much of a builder at all .I like the painting side of modelling.

Making good progress Carl! Track and other elements look right on. Sounds like you've earned some more bench time with your house renovations as well!

Andy , lol bro ! Your a brat !!! Joe , good to hear from you . Andy A. , don't get me wrong them links were monotonous but for me less so than many other track indy link sets . There is a positive connection that "works" well when finished and seems to be robust enough to hold together while wrapping it around the drive train . Bill , yup , I'm taking the day off from the renovation to spend some time at the bench . Raining outside so that is always a good motivation for me to take a break from the house stuff . T ,Its only easy because I don't have a schedule ...well except for my daily nappy time .

Yeah we KNOW it's a great half-track...we all KNOW Carl's a superb modeller, but hang on a cotton picking minute.....CARL'S GOT A VANITY UNIT!!!!! WTF? Did anyone else know this and more importantly......how long has it been OUT OF ORDER? ? These are earth-shattering questions that NEED answering people.....

Nems lol my friend ! Not only do I needs my nappy but when I wake up I needs my vanity . I gotta make sure everything is neat and presentable before I stroll out in front of those awaiting my return . A spray of "old spice " and a smoothing of the mustache makes me presentable ..........waste of time , actually cause the wife and dogs sure don't give a flyin poop ! Lui and Leon thanks my friends ! Hey guys ! Here is a step I wasn't looking forward too because I thought it would be more difficult . The first p.e. bending was a learning process and the second one went easier . On these half tracks the hub of the drive sprocket is used as a step for access . The surface has a textured non-slip surface on it . Trump provides a couple of p.e. parts to replicate this surface . Here it tis . Nice and flat ! To get molded into a compound curve I rolled It on a foam surface with aluminum tubing .It was rolled with the textured side down . It should look like this when done rolling it . When fit around the plastic hub cap it had an overlap . I cut the overlap off with a pair of p.e. nips while wearing the Omni visor .Then applied a little c.a. to hold it in place . There was a gap all the way around between the p.e. and the plastic so I floated a pool of c.a. in the center to fill gaps . After some accelerator and sanding . It is in place and ready for paint .Time for nother nappy ...........

I thought it would be a challenge to make the wheels steerable so I modified the steering linkage . Below is the kit stock parts . These parts are made to be glued into a fixed position . I used some Evergreen .035 rod . Then flared the ends with the head of a heated flat screw driver . Then I drilled appropriate sized holes thru the hinge points and inserted the flared rod . Now the wheels are multi position able . Ok . Som mor soon .

I agree, I can't remember one of your thread that didn't have a very nice tutorial on doing something. Thanks a lot for sharing your techniques, mate. Not to mention the results, always top notch. And this one's headed to be another one

Lui , thank you my friend ! Them tutorial are there if anyone is curious about how the hell I managed to churn out any kind'a reasonable result at all .
Andy , I've always enjoyed working on cars /trucks . Back before things under the hood got so complicated you could find me working on a vehicle every weekend .
Nems , I don't figure it out either why they went this far towards making it steerable and then stopped . that's ok . It gives us something to fix . Yup , I think them dogs just keep me around to fill their food dish and clean up their messes ! Just had a thought , that's what the wife says I do to her !
Bill , I got all lost with this dang time business today ! My old vcr resets the time a week early and my wind up clock unwound on Sat .!The clock on my radio has been blinkin 12:00 since the power went off and back on a month ago . I got so tired I didn't get up till 10 am , or was 11 ? Maybe noon ? I had to take a napp at sometime in the afternoon ...no sure what time it was .

I hear you Carl, our lives are ruled by technology that refuses to cooperate! I hate DST changes...we live so far south in the US that it doesn't really benefit us in any real way...it's the only time I envy the folks over in Arizona.

Thanks my friends !
Pete it was a bit of fun bending the ole brass !
Bill , I don't get the need for it way up here either ! Yes , its cool how Arizona doesn't play the DST thing . I spent a few winters down there .
Deano , my treatment might take a while so I hope you have patience .
