Ah yes another Tiger. Looks like it should come out great! It sure is a lot of stuff in that box lol. I just read "Tigers in Normandy" earlier this year. Great book, covered a lot of Wittman's play dates with the British.

Nice Kit!! I do not have this one but it looks great and your add-ons are just going to make it even better. Looking forward to seeing this build of the Black Baron's mount. Come to think of it I was planning on doing a Sherman III from the Sherbooke Fusiliers, the unit now considred to be the one that most likely killed him.
Dave.

What I'd REALLY like to see is a pic of the "special" sprue that only comes in this kit that makes it worth the $300-$400 it regulary fetches on Ebay! If someone got smart and made a rubber mold of that, we could all be cranking out Wittman's Last Tigers. Heh.
I imagine it's not very large, and a bit of an anticlimax when you realize what it is you're paying for.

Anthony - I'll be checking in on this one from time to time. Like a collectable car, it's nice to see one of these serve the purpose it was made for, instead of sitting in a garage (closet) collecting dust. Cee Bee - For what it is.... . Good one!

He gave me mine for the next Christmas. When he found out what they were goin for soon after, he decided to keep hold of his in the plastic. Me, i had mine open within seconds of gettin it. Im builin mine....no doubt!!! Cee Bee - you aint wrong when ya state the fact of the matter my friend. Oh boy dealt a heavy blow to the allies, but he got his in the end and thats that! We will really never know if money actually changed hands at that 3 to 400 price tag on eBay. I believe most of it is shill bidding and they really never go anywhere. Jeff

Nice choice of subject Anthony, ought to be a fun one! Also funny that Dragon didn't bother to change the instruction error regarding part A9 from the one that's in the kit #6252 that I'm building...but then that's not unusual either for Dragon instructions!

You'll have to excuse my iggorance of all things Axis, but WHAT is the difference between this fellas Tiggy, compared to the others of the same type?

You'll have to excuse my iggorance of all things Axis, but WHAT is the difference between this fellas Tiggy, compared to the others of the same type? Actually it wasn't even "his" Tiger. He took it over from someone else shortly before the battle, as his own ride got disabled earlier. In the German forces (Heer and Luftwaffe), especially in the late stages of the war, it was common practice that different people and crews at times used the equipment at hand. I dunno what makes this one so special, except that it was commanded by Wittmann, but if you want to earn some money, make a kit of it, or a Bf109 flown by Galland, then you'll be fine, even if there are trillions of other kits that are all more or less the same! Cheers, Tobi

Anything Tiger related commands a premium and Wittman in particular is a top draw. So far as I'm aware, other than the specific markings and the Befehls options for this Tiger, there isn't anything that makes it different from any other Late Tiger. According to Dave Byrden's site, tiger1.info/EN/CH6610-features.html, what sets 007 apart is the mix of features that seem to place it in the narrow production range of Feb to April 1944 in terms of the features it's sporting.
