What paints do you use for skin tones? They kind of look like the Vallejo ones I've got, but the colors on yours seem to be richer and have even contrasts between highlights and shadows. Love where this diorama is going.

I use Vallejo 815 and 845 for drybrushing over oil paints.

Tobias, if I understand correctly your process works this way:
you paint the basic flesh tone with acrylics
then cover it with a thin layer of raw umber oil paint
then drybrush the highlights again with acrylics.
Am I right?

Great looking figure Sorry to disturb you again, why do you use oils to add the second layer? Is the oil layer the same all over the face or do you make it darker in the shades and less dark in light areas?

I use the oil for the first shodows. After I remove the oil paint with a brush, the Skin colour is dark in the shadow Areas and so it´s easier to build up the face colour with Vallejo paints.

Thanks a lot, I think I got it (at least I hope). I'll experiment your approach, it looks way easier than the one I'm currently using.

Luigi another way of doing it is to remove the excess oil paint with a sponge, works well

Andy, theyre quite easy once you got used to them >Choose a color and prime the uniform >paint patterns with color No. 2 >make dots with the same color between the patterns >repeat with color No. 3 (maybe even No. 4, depends on the pattern itself) Just make sure that you use a very small brush - 5/0 or thinner works best. Heres a picture as little Iinspiration: Tobias, great work!

Nice update Tobias, the details around the MG position do a lot to explain the wounded soldier, nice touch!
