Well on the back burner over the last few weeks I have been doing the tracks which are a little more involved then your normal run of the mill soviet tracks. . DSC09037 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. .I started with the normal run of the mill link and pin. I then added the AK burnishing treatment. Washed clean and treated with Mig powders. Then the track inners were washed with Tanker black.and washed with a panzer gray filter. . . .Once I had done this I turned the tracks over and rubbed them with a sanding stick. . . The vehicle has now been matted down awaiting chipping and rubbing. Rgs All Mac

Andy Bill thanks guys well the best bits are on the way, over the years I have managed to look past what iam painting to the next few layers a bit like chess. Well now the matts gone on you will see a massive change in colour. . DSC09036 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. Some minor damage and more micro weathering to come I let the matt dry 24hrs then I have now added filters pics of that stage to follow for now the pics are just on the matt stage. . DSC09034 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. Now shes lookin more used. . DSC09035 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. .She looks flat and lifeless but this will change. . DSC09041 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. Well that's about the last pic in bits. While writing this two more streak filters have gone on my girls getting dressed up and looking fine.............happy happy happy Mac

Luigi, Bill Dan, Once again Gents thanks for following, Dan its lifeless in my eyes and to my style of painting, but iam glad you like it as is cos your dribble latter I hope. . DSC09047 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. Here she is after being put together bar the MG and some internals.. The filters are working your see the fuel drums and ammo boxes are a different green. I have added dark streaks and filters next it will be light ones I have also added minimum damage to the paint. . DSC09050 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. I added some white to the aluminium to flat it out a bit and I was really spearing with what I did. . DSC09054 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. More pics to follow later got a date with the Arizona today got to do some railings Rgs Mac

I am with Dan... no way it is lifeless. I am pretty amazed and I can't wait to see more.
Have fun with Arizona... is it a 1/200?

I don't think it's lifeless, it's just modern and it's not employed in a war. So it is surely less weathered and battered than most other tanks. But in my eyes it looks right, it reminds me of the many pics I've seen of modern russian tanks

Gents i think you miss under stood me. several stages back I added the matt that does make things look flat and lifeless, now as in the last batch things are starting to happen, just adding more colours highs and lows. still have plenty to do fuel stains dusts all sorts.. Stay with it should be fun

Mac Winking Russians? Sounds like some kind of fancy drink...or what you might expect to appear in one of Dicky's recent dio projects.
