"Romanian Playground" - PzKpfw. 35 (t): A Broken Swing

Thanks Andy. Some say that people remove parts from tank wrecks for recycling purposes for examle - especially chains. Well, I found loads of pictures where the tank still has the chains on. For the 35(t) build I took this as a reference picture:




I like the look of that, especially the "metal snake" behind the tank. My interpretation is this:

Here it is... After some Tamiya primer some green color followed. Once it was dry, Maskol was brought on with a sponge - the verysame method like i did with the door:







Then came the fun part: Vallejo Hull Red and a toned down Hull red (toned it down with black) are a good start for this stage. After all was dry, I rubbed of the Maskol.

Not here yet. BUT!!!! This scha-weet ICM set. A bit older now, but its purr-fect for that dio. Not the figures, but the clothes line - adds a bit more realism here.

Soooo. Lets talk about the dirty things. Or to be honest: The not-so-dirty-anymore things... The ICM set with the female Russian soldiers features some dirty clothing thats supposed to hang on a line. Perfect!




Lets have a closer look:





I had to rethink the door. I was informed that the "Romanian Cross" was used only on tanks and planes - but not on doors. Furthermore, all those insignias had to be removed by law and order of the communist parties in the Warszaw Pact states... But hteres nothing against a little graffiti in the 90ies, right?




Someone asked "will the back side of the door get a weathering too?!" - of course! There you go:

Theres more to come, Bill. I remodeled a figure from ICM (reissued by Revell, early tankers, No. 02615). It got longer pants and a Master Box civilian head. This figure is supposed to stand right in front of the tank. Maybe its the grandfather of the kid on the tank.

Sooo, time to rework the swing. Swings are tricky.

So tricky that I gave up after the 2nd try- really?! Gonna leave it alone for a while now.But I managed to complete Grandpa:






Additionally, the grass around the tank was "raised" by using tons of fibres and tons of hairpray.

Sorry, but I dont know what Andy looks like... So I havent had no "walkaround" or reference pics for that.

From Royal Model comes this gorgeous figure! Primed with Marabu Magenta andwashed with Carroburg Crimson, a dark red washing from Games Workshop, it turned out very well. Those figures are very expensive (3 pc cost 30€ here).




Well... But theyre the icing on the cake. Fair enough.

Nice one tigrazor ! Did you attach the grass fibres onto the surface with hairspray ?

Or did you use white glue thinned down with water ?
