Dan, I'm a little late with this, but really Dude, it looks great to me. Nice soft edges, good color mixing, and well sprayed. What's not to like?

I think a german tanker from WW2 wouldn't spot anything wrong about that camo, Dan. It's almost identical to the original one, weathered and worn it'll be a stunner.

I'd say you came pretty close on replicating the pattern Dan, once you get it weathered it will look the part for sure. Very nice!

You did a great job mate, really love how it looked. I pretty much always have the same feeling as you have after a paintjob, don't mind though, it's cool. And no overspray visible...impressive!!!

btw, since you painted crash helmets...my dad wants me to paint his...what kind of paints are best too use? I guess modelling paints are a bit too fragile for that LOL

Wouter there is bits here and there buddy if ya look close enough thanks for looking in fella for the crash helmets i used Auto Air Colours they are acrylic but quite strong the clear coat will lock them in

John thanks fella for ya comment the camo was all free hand buddy with the air pressure low and highly thinned paint the Mr Hobby Laquer thinner helps a lot too im hoping to bring it to Ontrack fella if i get her finished in time

Ok guys, my panther now has the wheels and tracks fitted, still a couple of small adjustments to make here and there and some light weathering still to do but that's that part more or less done. No issues with anything and i did use the kit tracks which went on easily, the detail on them is exceptional and i didn't feel the need to go after market.
I'll be working on the various tools and stuff until my water trap arrives, then it'll be camo time and a real test for me lol!
Got a new camera yesterday and still learning how to use it so my pics may look slightly different form the one's i took with my Samsung GS4.

I bought a Nikon L320, compact slr. I already have a small Nikon camera that i've had for years but it lacked a good zoom. The L320 has a good close up function too which should be good for models. Really rate the Nikkor lenses, their awesome imo.

Tracks are looking good Stuart, nothing wrong with the Magic tracks at all! Last set of pics really shows off what your camera is capable of, nice macro shots.

Was a bit afraid when I saw the first two or three photos (white balance is way off there!) but the rest are very nice, love the color and as Bill said, nice macro shots there mate

I did the wear marks on the front sprockets like this, first i paint any areas that will be subject to wear with Mr metal color, stainless (you could also use their dark iron, burnt iron or aluminium if you wished) i use a fine brush for this. Once dry i rub Mig gunmetal pigment onto the worn areas, this will polish up almost instantly and give the look you want. You can then add rust, mud or dust pigments to that later on in the weathering process as required. It's very simple and quick and this is how i always do these effects.
Also for machine gun barrels and the like, i paint them black first then rub the gunmetal pigment in, the effect is as good as any if not better imo.

Thanks Stu for showing ya secrets its safe with me lol still not sure how much wear and tear to apply to mine as this Tank in my refs saw next to no combat, comes out of factory breaks down then is used for spare parts lol what a life
