Thanks a lot, Andy! Let's give a little help then if the Polish hussar virus is already activated:

Of course, Andy! What can I tell you after some readings is that if you choose the Red instead the Green is better to show the high social position of your hussar (you have there a very impressive one). Only the middle nobility and the gentry used green, blue. And I think the combination Red and Gold works better. But whatever will be your option, I'm sure will gonna worth! Good luck, my friend, I'll gladly watch your topic!

AWESOME! I was planning to do red... didn't know the different between colors and their positions. Can't wait to start painting the bust. I had it primed last night so it is ready for next step. LOL
Thanks again for all of the great info!

Thank you, my friend! Just some words about it. Beginning of the End : the base. I used a round base from Miniart ( http://www.miniart-m.../1_16/16019.jpg ) . It’s recommended for a bigger scale (1/16) , but it also works perfectly to 1/32 scale . I think I will use for other projects, at least for more figurines of my Grey Army. I " circled the playground " with Tamyia band in order to avoid unnecessary dirty areas. Then, I applied Dass terracotta ( http://www.colorit.r...delaj-das-.html ) . It works nice with water and dries perfect. As is still soft , you can play with it. With a ball of aluminum foil, tight well, I tapped (improperly said ) , forced getting some land irregularities. I tried to avoid the risk to "sink" the hussar boots, it would be a mess. After drying, I applied a coat of black primer Vallejo. I let it dry and then I started to make a base colour of the land with Black 337, a black but with brown -green shades. I made a mixture with Chocolate Brown ( 70872 ) and then I started doing dry brush adding Iraq Sand ( 70819). Well, I didn’t get the right color that I wanted, but it was ok after all the others elements were placed. With few pigments (AK -081 Dark Earth , Vallejo 73102 Light Yellow Ocre and 73107Dark Red Ocre ) and some water I tried to break the monotony of the field giving rise to certain spots of color . The resulting effect was interesting, I really liked. To put an elegant end to the construction the landscape, I added a small piece of bark , dried leaves , two shades, of personal reserves, a fall foliage from Gale Force Nine, a yellow flower Green Line series ( 041 ) in Frederics Rex and a green bush, same manufacturer (028) . Everything was glued with White Craft Glue . The bark was transformed into a rock after successive operations: sticking with white glue after drying which has received proper layer of black primer. Then came successively into the scene, a Basalt Grey (70869), base coat open with 70 990 Light Gray and final dry brushes with White. For more breaking symmetry, I choose to add some washes(Vallejo Model Wash , Brown , Green + a wash with 70 921 English Uniform to simulate and some moss) . There are still small changes to be done but that’s how it looks now (with apologies for the photo quality and my poor English) . Cheers, Nicolae

What a great work, Nico! I have not seen or read this thread so it was cool to enjoy it now in full length and in progress, so to say! My first thought was, what a top figure on such a small Base. And I thought further to write that you should make a new one for the figure. And bingo! A new one appeared imho... Hehe! But argh! So many cool figures around! Too many that there isn´t as much time as needed to paint them all... You did a real fantastic job on the Winged Hussar! Frank

Thank you, buddies, too kind from you. For a 54 mm scale it tooks me so long (almost a year, with pauses), but the final result, I think, worth well. I'm not so sure to what scale I'll stay, I'd like for the next year to try also others. Maybe 75 mm works better for me. Here is my "grey army" offer, so I have to (wisely) choose:
