My favorite part in all this is that you have no idea yet how the back half will go. These are always the best, most rewarding, builds, the ones you didn't know about until it was time to find odd parts and glue them down.

Evenin all, Hope everyone has been having a good weekend, Me, I got 3,1/2 hours in yesterday and about 6 hours today, I've been keeping track and I've reached 100 hours on this project as of 1;15 pm today. I think progress is going quite well, problems seem to be solving themselves as I go. Gotta love freestyle baby. It's also inspiring to have you guys along for the ride, not sure where we are going to end up but it should be fun. Thanks for your comments, greatly appreciated Why is it Jackie Dickster? The reason that I said Colin was, a friend of mine was so bad with peoples names he just started, one day, calling everybody Colin. Colin is ok for now, he's the test pilot So................... Added some more bracing under the front section of the engines Did the same for the rear basic frame work This is all to support the undertray Which was scored and folded and will be fixed in position later Undertray taped in position [/img] Cut out and fitted the front section of the side pod Removed the bottom of a razor packaging piece, this is my directional underside magneto power neon pulse vent. Wanted to do some greeblie work on the internals of the underside vent assembly's, so, I got two of these from the local supermarket for $12 each. Cockpit floor, My old faithful vodka pouring spout and a tank wheel Plumbing, Details, Mmmmmmmmmm Primer And that's the story so far. Stay tuned Take care my friends Gag

Very nice work so far dude. I love the name of your pilot too. Colin - haha sooo many people would have gone with Pole McWinning, or Dirk Ironhard or some such.
Cheers,

All your builds are like those tv series, each episode ends with the question mark. Where will those four finely detailed things end on the racer? See you at the nex episode Great and inspiring job, btw

Got to love the 'add on' donor parts from the Huey kits! Reminds me of how some of the stage models for Star Wars were built. Looking good Gagster!

Ello Buddlies, Vodka? You didn't invite me to your party... how clever of you to use those parts! I used several on the MK1 and it wasn't a party it was a weeknight All your builds are like those tv series, each episode ends with the question mark. Where will those four finely detailed things end on the racer? See you at the nex episode Great and inspiring job, btw I call it cliff hanger building, dum dum daaaaaaa, whats going to happen to our hero next? Greeblies i think Got to love the 'add on' donor parts from the Huey kits! Reminds me of how some of the stage models for Star Wars were built. Looking good Gagster! I wanted to work at ILM soooooooo bad when i was a kid, thats why i became an engineer, because i thought it would give me the skills to work in a special effects model shops. True story. Colin, looks disturbingly like Mr J.Stewart is all Tony Great work here as usual, I can easily believe this has hit the three figures tally, man-hours wise fella, it all adds up eh? Excellent greeblie application as ever yer vent flaps look sweet as a nut mate! Funny isn't it....I was only checking out my own discarded razor packaging the other day and I thought to myself if that hasn't got directional underside magneto power neon pulse vent written all over it....I'm a Dutchman! Superb modelling It happens to me quite a lot, i see something and just think "that would make such a perfect...........?", and thats usually how it starts, i wanted to use the razor thingies on the MK1 but couldn't find anywhere that they fit in. and, i believe Colins actual origin comes from Emmerson Fittipaldi, but i might be wrong. What happened to the finger Gag? Just a scratch that wouldn't stop bleeding until i put a plaster on it. It got everywhere at work, pain in the a$$, didn't hurt at all, just would not stop bloody bleeding. Anyhoosyourdaddy Thanks to everyone for stopping by guys, good to have you here, Thanks for the comments and the positive vibes, man. Got some more hours in this week on my freestyle baby PIX Started positioning the directional underside magneto power neon pulse assembly Started on some engine details Thats all for now Cheerio Gag

Whoah...nice update Gag! Expert greeblification.
You sure do get some mileage out of those T-34 tracks. The odd part is that they're shaped in such a way that they just blend right in.

Film quality stuff, Gag. This one could be a custom made model for a tv/cinema production. It looks even better than the original Star Wars stuff done by ILM.

I can see how wanting to go to work with ILM would lead you to become an engineer! And it's definitely paying off here with your scratch-building for sure. Looks good under primer!

Afternoon Every Peeps, Thank you all so very much for your comments, it's great having you all along for the ride, much appreciated. Film quality stuff, Gag. This one could be a custom made model for a tv/cinema production. It looks even better than the original Star Wars stuff done by ILM. That is a real compliment sir, thanks buddy. back to reality..... Things have been difficult the last couple of days, I seem to of lost some momentum. Nothing seems to want to fit together. 1. One of the BEST things about scratch building is that you don't have instructions to follow. 2. One of the WORST things about scratch building is that you don't have instructions to follow. The classic double edged lightsaber thingy..... I'm experiencing number 2 at the moment, big time. This usually happens when painting is involved, not my favourite thing to do. But anyhoo, here goes............. Glued in the reflectors from some old LED lamps Assembled engine innards Splashed around some more primer, Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm primer Colin drawn Colin beheaded Started to re-build Colin for much less than six million dollars with everybodys friend, especially Colins, Apoxie sculpt. Also cut a small wedge and bent his legs back, filled and sculpted, my first ever attempt Filled and sculpted the middle section. A quick splash of primer to show me what's occuring Hit the engines and all additional components with matt black Chrome silver Painted innards Masked and gloss blacked ready for other stuff to happen Thats about the size of it so far this week. Take care Gag

Evenin Everyone, Thanks for the comments Slow week this week, just didn't have the energy to do anything. But i did manage a bit...... Here we go.... PIX Got a couple of different silver's on the engines including alclad Magnesium on the nozzles, it's not all shiny like alclad should be but i got the effect i wanted Matt Black on the intake innards. Added some colour to the detail Used yellow, red and blue to add some heating effects In position on the main frame Primered up the side neon floaty thingys, mmmmmmmmmmmm Primer So far Underside I've given Colin arms and will be fitting him into the cockpit soon. I need to even up the paint a bit but thats no problem. I think i know what the front end will look like, think Manta Ray? I don't even know how you are going to be able to see the engine detail, if at all, i was tempted to do a fully detail interior but as i don't know what the final profile is going to look like thats difficult to figure out, Going to do a quiz/competition for the colour scheme so stay tuned.... Take care Gag
