Dupes the 232 is a nice start for 2014 .As for your fear of weathering practice on a piece of plastic until your happy with the effects you want.

You know Leon, that's a really good idea. I don't know why I don't do that now? Have a sheet painted panzer gray, one dunkelgelb, dunkelgelb with green and brown, etc. etc.

Your posts just went up by 40 in the last 5 minutes. You must have multiple monitors with multiple browsers along with a 3rd hand?

Thanks, John...but if you saw the number of built and painted kits I've got on the shelf of doom awaiting the "important" part, you'd understand!

Now that's better - only two days in between trips to the display case. At this pace I should knock out around 175 builds this year!

WOW! Took you only couple of hours to build that tractor? She's a beauty! Nice base too...

Andy - it DID only take a couple of hours to build that tractor (seriously!)...but it was about 8 months ago. Been languishing on the shelf just basecoated awaiting weathering ever since. I have another one of those kits lurking in the stash if you "need" one. Can let it go cheap, I'm sure.

Cleaning up the backlog....as good as any way to start off the new year, Dupes. Both of those builds turned out great!

Bob - you know it! And I've got a lot of backlog to work on, too. Certainly more than I have fingers and toes to count on.

OK i see the way this is going. Putting the pressure on the rest of us early huh? Easier to quote myself (that won't make me go blind will it?)than type it out again. JEEZ MAN! Come up for air. And what's with all the gray. I am sure I have an extra dark yellow I can spare if you're desperate. But seriously... your are 2 for 2. That dozer is a great little kit and you did a fine job.

Wow!!! Even if we take it slowly and yer maintain just one build a week we're lookin' at the first 50+ build tally in a year...even me and Todd can't manage that between us Dupes....go for it fella Is that a challenge? Awwwww hell!

Hey Dupes, great start. Both look really sweet. Hard to tell that 232 is 1/72 scale! Great job knocking them out. Your plan is same as mine - get the half builts done and clear them out. Got about 20 myself. Go after the weathering on a beater. I keep an old build in my paint booth and when I get done painting for real, I use the rest of the mix in the paint cup to practice thin lines, camo, spots, and such. I do the same with weathering materials too. Looking forward to more as you finish them up.

Thanks guys! Rick - plenty of mine are beaters...I should just try weathering the pants off of all of them.

I've really been thinking about this 50-finished-kit challenge. My mojo is certainly getting cranked up enough to give it a solid attempt...just worried about not having enough hours in the day during the summer when work gets busy. Don't suppose it hurts to give it the ol' college try?
