Some words about the lightning?? Frank Thanks for watching, guys. Three words on lighting; Light-Emitting-Diodes. LEDs and some basic Google research on how to decide what size resistor to use. I buy a 1 meter strip of flush mounted LEDs. They are designed to work at 12 volts DC. You can cut off three LEDs at a time from the strip and wire each group of three separately. Depending upon your voltage source (I'm going to use a 11.1 volt LiPo remote control airplane battery) you can lower the intensity of the lights with resistors of various size. The same type of three LED combination is used in the panel here as was used in the ceiling lights; but the roof lighting has been made less intense with resistors. Work on the front end, in particular the instrument panel. Getting this installed and working was a big step. Glued in place! Do-dads and gizmo things added. More of that to come. I need to hide the panel/window interface.

John - do you have any links to stuff you were able to find about getting started with LEDs? I've been wanting to get going with lighting some builds for a while now...but have NO idea where to start. Searched the internets for books, but didn't find anything aimed toward the beginner. Maybe some good tutorials/websites out there?

Maybe some good tutorials/websites out there? Here's a good place to start. www.evilmadscientist.com/2012/resistors-for-leds/The information is basic enough to cover all types of LEDs and DC power inputs. There's basic math. But they explain it clearly. There's loads, both good and bad, on YouTube as well. I've also had good service from www.superbrightleds.com in buying supplies. Your local Radio Shack is fine for resistors, switches and the like. But their LEDs are limited and expensive compared to online sources.

I've not forgotten about this one. I just got stuck for a few weeks in building a tank. Painted the crewmen. Once these two are fixed inside the rover I'll be able to enclose everything and start work on the outside.

This next series is for Nylon Gag. Nylon, are you out there? You can see that in grafting together the front end of the vehicle I have several very rough spots and gap problems. How would you handle these? My plan is to Bondo and epoxy putty the transitions as we've seen with countless other Sci-Fi builds. But I wanted to ask if you've got a better idea. Has anyone else got a better idea? Thanks in advance, John Only just seeing this now John, sorry buddy, been having issue with life and stuff. You look as though you solved the problem, my solution would be to just build up the area with off cuts of styrene and use CA with baking soda as a filler, then you can sand and repeat until you have the desired effect. This is looking fantastic though mate Your interior looks like a film set Great work Gag

hello NG,
No worries. We haven't seen much of you around here. I was worried something bad had happened. Glad to see you posting. I bonded everything with smal cuts of styrene, CA and Bondo. I wasn't too concerned in achieving a smooth surface as most of the exterior will be covered in panels, boxes, wires, and gizmos. Any rough spots will be covered.
How's work on the skimmer?

More adding of gizmos, boxes and thingys. The blue part was a piece from an old garage door remote. Many components seen here were once bits from the circuit board inside the remote. It will be reunited with the rest of the pieces after the paint's dry. Mostly tank parts with an LED for fun. Mounted in final position. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for stopping by! Casting parts for the exterior. Cladding for the sides of the rover's exterior. I'm going to need between 6 and 8 of these O2 tanks.
