In the market we can use the mig fixer but someone told me to use white spirit because it's iqual. I used white spirit to fix pigments but after dry i put my finger on it but part of the pigments stay in my finger. what can i use to fix the pigments ? should i use mat varnish? white glue?
thanks for your tips Mirasado

Hello Mirasado!! I would say, if you were to not pick up some pigment fixer, would be to try mixing some white spirit and a little varnish. I am not too sure on a mixing content but if you play around with it, it is a similar mix to the fixer. Good luck!! Edit: See, Rob clued me in on another option....Alcohol and acrylic clear. Either solvent based version should work.

I can only speculate on the ingredients....I would go out on a limb and say matte varnish and spirits (Certainly unconfirmed) But with the right mixture it will more than suffice!

You can also you clear matt medium as a fixer. This can be used with the AB and if it's too thick you can thin it with water. The trick is to spray light mist coats and not heavy. Better to build up light mists.
Satin or flat clear acryilics can work with a water/ alc mix.

You can also use clear flat enamel. Keep in mind that most fixers or clear coats may darken the pigments, or even make the disappear. I have found that the AK fixer is not as bad as others.

Hi guys, my favourite is the AK Interactive fixer at present. It's an enamel I think, but it's really thin almost like white spirit and runs easily by itself throught the pigs by capilary action. So if you sprinkle or brush on the dry pigs first, when your happy you can just take a paint brush and drop a few drops of the fixer at the edges of the piments and it will run through them by itself.
However it does darken them a little and they may even disappear if they are too thin, as you say Rob.
Cheers JT

Yep. What JT says. Also, I found that the AK fixer does not leave tide marks, or at least I didn't have any. I always apply small amounts as with my painting and weathering. It's been my habit to always go light and add if needed.

AB is airbrush for short.
ER, I have tried this only once just for fun. It can be done. First your best bet is to use a medium size and not a really fine tip, or it will clog. The mix has t be thin enough and you must keep stirring this mix in the AB. If you don't mix it while spraying the pigs will settle to the bottom and clog the AB. I would only recommend spraying pigs in tiny amounts and not try to cover the entire hull of a tank. This is only good if you want to add a very small amount of dust to a small area.
