This is the one I finally decided on; and the ubiquitous money shot As you can see this is a nice simple weekender, but its probably going to take me a bit longer P

Nice! I've heard that the wheels on these Italeri kits are way undersized...but it looks like a Humvee to me?

Easy solution to the undersized wheels... add more air?

AWESOME! Count me in... I am on my way so what kind of beer you want me to bring over? Alcoholic and cold - take a left out of Cardiff airport and drive for a bout 20 minutes- we're up about half-way on the hill side.... .

Built and primed! No major problems just a minor issue with the cab/loadbed wall. This is to short by about 2mm so needed a fillet each end to bridge the gap. (pics to follow)
Now the question is what colour scheme...? I have a few ideas in mind but am open to suggestions/ ideas!

Cheers Leon! Picture time- all painting using Vallejo Model Air; Primed- NATO Black (from the ISAF set): And then a basecoat of Loam Beige - again from the ISAF set: And yup -I've started masking for some form of digital-cam scheme. Dont know if a hummer ever wore one and tbh don't care- doing it cause I can Not sure if I'm going to do it all over or simply just on the hood/bonnet. Time will tell. and yes I ave notied the knockout holes on the cab wall. planning to hide them with some judicious use of traps later nighty night. P

Looks like it went together pretty well Paul. Certainly fast enough Primer looks sweet and the base color suits. Digi- Camo? I agree, who cares if it had it or not. I think it will be awesome and I vote for the entire build to have it.

WHY NOT! I am positive that US Army did an experiment on that too... can't wait to see how it comes out.

Thanks fellas!
Im not sure what I've started with this....the hood took an hour to mask and that's for just a single Colour. What ever happens next is not going to be quick- though i have to admit it was strangely relaxing ! P

Cheers Gents Well I got a bit carried away with myself this evening P-)and just went for it whislt Mrs H was watching Titanic! Base colour Loam Beige (RAL 1040) followed up with Yellow Brown (RAL 8031) and Light Olive (RAL 6040) and this is what it ended up like; Well it obviously needs tidying up in places but I am rather happy with how this little experiment has turned out so far , but as always folks- all comments etc very graciously received. Looking great! Once you spray heavy thinned base coat it will make the camo blend together. It will look superb!
Lucky your wife watched the Titanic... 4 or 5 hours long movie... my wife will never watch anything that long so I can sneak into my man cave. LOL

Great job on your HMMWV. Any day a HMMWV gets built is a good day. Here is a Lebanese HMMWV in digital camo. I have a website....www.hmmwvinscale.com that focuses specifically on HMMWV's. I would love to receive pictures of your model for posting on the site if your interested.
