Here a new project from me its Tamiya`s Beemer that I have received from a friend for free after laying some years in a dark corner off his house The kit was all ready started but no problem for me because I have some other plans with it then a standard Beemer I started today after checking of all the parts that I needed where in the box and yes its complete so the fun started. The box and some plastic bags with the assembled parts. First things that I have done is some modifications on the frame and a dry fit with some parts for a first impression. The standard frame My way And the dry fit with the wheels. The idea is replacing the schocks for fake ones the way that they did years ago replacing them with steel bars for the idea its a hard tail or rigid frame (don't now the right name for it) I hope that the end result will looks like something off a bobber/cafe racer

I have just done some small things that are important for me for the rest off the build. First I made the Beemer a little longer at the back. Made a dry fit with a other wheel, this one have a smaller rim but a fat tire on it Works well but I must only change the complete wheel because this on is for a chain drive.

The rear wheel is spooked after two days off hard labor On the left the position for drawing the place where the new spokes are coming. After that I made some slots with a Xacto saw 50 spokes from copper rod Then I glued the spokes to the center with a 2k glue, I did not glue the spokes on the rim itself this if I must made some corrections if its not right align with the second part of the rim After all that work I sit back and enjoy my work Next step some putty work on the rim for removing the seam between the two halves of the rim.

Thnx Andy yes its look like the forum is turning from panzer grey/yellow to styrene white Dicky you right they are guides for sanding I got the idea from the ship builders, I will fill in the spaces with some foam before I use some Miliputt or a other product for reducing the weight.

Dead fish, that's a good analogy Ron! But then that just means it's got 'good bones' as they say. Nice progress on the tank.

A little late but thnx guys. I`m little further with the Beemer. A little fit problem. I have used a hairdryer for a better fit and sanding the most of it smooth Some reworked parts. And some off the parts in the filler I have turned some new parts, rear light, speedo meter and and a gas cap And after 5 months working on and off on this bike at last some color on it :-) Happy with the tank after all the problems I have with it. Next a lot off Aclad work.

Amazing work, Ron! Good Looking color! I tried to make a gas tank using milliput, I finally got the shape I wanted, but it was way to small.
