Gentlemen you are far too kind, its only a wee bit of soldering I have seen far more skilled endeavours on MSC. Well I have been attacking this slowly, I thought it prudent to do some more work to the hull this involved fitting the two bilge keels, either side of the ship. I also added the internal cross beams an reinforced them with some H plastruct rod, I then dry fitted the brass fordeck onto the hull only to find the hull twists a little towards the deck, so then with a view to the earlier comments re support added the plastic fordeck in place an then again dry fitted the brass (bounce) it pulled the hull square an offered a sturdy support for the brass win win. I then added the rear deck and structure to see how it would all fit together and where problems may appear and laid out the brass overlays. Here you can see the location points for the depth charge rails an the depth charge chuckers lol on the sides Here a view down the ship showing the intitial work on the bandstand for the 4" gun and the wheel house behind it, the bridge will build up on top of the wheel house and forwards these next two structures need a little more work and a little brass lol but start to build a picture of the sheer size of this beast. And finally this to make you chuckle, I figured the best way of filling the portholes as they are all an irregular size would be to use the clear 'glass' supplied in the kit, glad I am drilling em out as well........ There's armoured glass an then there is Revell's portholes That's about where I'm at, more at some point soon I hope

Thanks T, if you do be prepared for an awful lot of work, so much wrong and over scale, a lot of brass or scratch building will see it right!!

Decided to have a look at one of the smaller details from the foredeck this took the form of the Hedgehog forward throwing anti submarine device...... quite the mouthful lol So here are the parts............ As you can see this introduces the first of the white metal components, and also the first adhesive -_-, I have tried soldering white metal in the past but to no avail And the PE cut and cleaned prior to soldering And a few hours later.............. TADA!! Quit pleased with how that turned out, but disappointed the little fork shaped thing didn't fit! its supposed to sit snugged down in the recess, in front of the white metal charges, ugh huh not a chance, but its not obvious so no biggy! My next task.... call me insane is to try and replicate some of this cabling.... Twas the best image I could find online, and me books only contain line drawings, so will have to do. ACW

Nice work on the hedgehog. Since no one else has taken the bait, you're insane for attempting cabling in 1/72! There, I said it, but am also quite sure you'll be able to pull it off magnificently.
