I am afraid if you got picture of it... must be so hot in your garage this time of year? Put it outside in the sun to "speed cure". It did that and more!

More work on the LAV-AT. So close now - I will be finishing it up tomorrow night. The base will take a bit longer since I have to wait for the celluclay to cure. What's been done? - Whole new base. Going much better. Once it cures I'll be adding Vallejo Desert Sand paste on top and painting/pigmenting it to match the LAV. - Lots of additional pigment and weathering work - Aerials rigged out of guitar string. I was going to tie them down, but that doesn't seem to be the practice with the Hammerheads. I guess because maybe they'd interfere with launcher movement. Final shots tomorrow once I've got it wrapped!

Those anti-reflective coatings are something I want to look into for my future builds... they look great!
Looking forward to see it completed soon!

Looks great! Re: the aerials - I'm not sure you CAN tie them down if you make them out of guitar string - lot of tension there on the high E if you bend it that far.

Question - what happened to the base? I liked where you were going with that.

Coming back around on the base. Vallejo's Desert Sand paste is a very weird yellowish tan that doesn't, to my mind, really look like sand. Maybe sand in some very specific geographic region, but not any I'm familiar with. So last night I painted it with a mix of Vallejo Iraqi Sand and Dark Sand, with some Khaki and German Orange Ochre to bring it closer in line with the tones of the MIG Gulf War Sand pigments I used on the LAV. Once the paint was down, I went over it with the pigment. Still a bit more to do...want to darken up the tracks a bit and add some slightly lighter tones to the surrounding sand (I mixed up batches of slightly lighter and darker pigment for the LAV so those will be used).

You have my attention... thought about trying that Vallejo product one day. Looking good... you can always add more pigments to change its color if you wish. Just don't inhale 'em! LOL
