AMPS All American is putting on a contest/show in Fayetteville NC on Aug 30th, 2014. For more inmformation check out the website here: www.ampsallamerican.com/p/amps-all-american-2012-contest.htmlThere are still a few categories needing to be sponsored. Contact Kerry at: kbrenstuhl@gmail.com if you're interested in doing so. Vendor tables are still available for $10.00 each (6ft). You can talk to Kerry about that, too, if you want to set up.

We can only hope, Rob. This is actually our first solo attempt at it. Last year we teamed up with the local IPMS chapter to put on a dual event and ended up with about 120 pieces on the AMPS side. This year, as a solo event, we're crossing our fingers to equal that (or at least come within 20% of it). The venue is pretty good sized, so space won't be a problem. We're also planing for at least 30 vendor tables and a raffle. I'll make sure to post an after action report when all is said and done.

Our first full show is now in the past. It wasn't a huge show, but everyone who attended had a good time. The EOD team from Ft Bragg was a big hit. They had a nice static display of weapons and mines. On top of that, you could clamber through the 6x6, and even take a turn at driving the three robots they brought (I mean, really, how many times in life do you get to play with something that costs a quarter of a million dollars!). We ended up with 76 models, a little less than we had hoped for, but still a respectable showing. Here's a link to photos of most of the entries (apologies to those who were missed). s17.photobucket.com/user/mike_kloppenburg/library/AMPS%202014

Thanks guys! There were some really nice pieces there. I think everyone was wanting to get a hold of that Russian anti-tank mine "Best of Show" award! In the haste of getting the original post done, I forgot the most important part. A big "thank you" to all that came out and either participated or worked to make this a successful event.

Thanks Andy. I'm still trying to run down some other pics from the show, especially the EOD stuff. I'll post here if I find any. Dummy me packed the SD card and spare batteries, then forgot the camera itself!

WOW! Great pics... did they let you hold that RPG? Yeah, you could play with it. Of course, it was only an inert training version. The four guys manning the display were all really knowledgable with an abundance of first hand experience. It was, Rod. Hopefully, we'll be able to do it again next year.
