Luigi, believe me Christmas is HUGE here in America. Remember... America and Capitalism are pretty alike. All stores are already stocking Christmas stuff and we still have Halloween and Thanksgiving to celebrate. LOL

Hi guys! A quick update... base is almost done. Have to say I really like Vallejo sand product... I used Desert Sand and it delivered excellent texture for sure! I felt base was naked so I threw in few cactuses... why not! Bought the set for only $7 from Hobby Town USA few years ago. LOL Applied AK washes for DAK vehicles but its hard to see in the picture... sorry about that! Next I will apply darker sand pigments on the base in some places and apply AK DAK Filter on the 232. Thanks for looking!

Andy
You just keep making it better and better. I have some info on the 15 cm K. 39 Medium Field Gun with your name on it, have I already sent that or do I need to send it?

My wife wants to kill you...actually she would kill you if I showed her that picture, so best not to, eh. Great work on the 8-rad, just goes to show how well these old Tamiya kits hold up. Looking forward to more progress, Tom

Leon- Thanks my fav wizardo! Tom- LOLOLOLOLOL Sometimes it can be fun doing Tamiya kits... I did a Pz IV from 1970's and it came out just great. It only need little extra TLC. LOL Sorry about your wife and the lobsters... hope she didn't see the pic. Carl- Thanks papaw!!! I think I am going to add some dry grasses too. Todd suggested tumbleweed too. LOL Dennis- Thanks buddy for the nice words! This build has been fun so far... you would be surprised how many pieces you can get out of this cactus set for only $7 at Hobby Town USA. I think I am using them again for my next DAK build. LOL

Deano- Thanks mate... hope to finish the base over the weekend. For some reason I love doing desert diorama but not in 1/72! LOL Guy- Hey crazy guy!!! Glad you liked it... but it is no where as nice as your base. LOL I forgot to post an update... applied AK Afrika Korp filter on the 232. I think it helped to blend the paints together... it was my first time using one of their filter products. Next is applying dust pigments to the 232 especially its wheels.

Andy, you've got a well looking sandy diorama. You'll keep the vehicle in that position? I don't know if placed diagonally will looks a little better. Cheers! Nicolae

Thanks Nicolae! 232 is already glued to the base. LOL I am not too concerned since I will add two figures and empty water cans to the base at the end. Maybe few more things too... you know how slow I am, right? LOLOLOL

Desertrat- Thanks my friend! I applied two coats... I felt one coat was not enough because I was aiming for dusty look. Remember the pictures I posted earlier... they were pretty dusty. Here's one of my favorite pictures... it amazes me how dusty they are but their wheels are not. Crazy, huh?
