Nice finish all around on this one Joe. It seems so strange to see a B-17 without those signature turrets and gun layouts...makes you really appreciate how rapidly the design evolved once war broke out.

Beautiful baby you got! I personally prefer green over aluminum... its the faded or chipped paint that gets me every time!

few folks will understand the importance of these early B17 airframes in a time of dire straits. They were soon followed by the B17E which was just an interim piece till the B17F came out. Yamamoto got it right with his statement about pulling the chain on the big dog. Few nations anywhere could turn out four engine bombers like the retooled auto companies did!

Gary you are right. This build was a topic of discussion on a YouTube "Amazing Plastic" Hangout. Most of the comment was from individuals that think of only the -G version as A B-17. The comments were based on the paint work was wonderful but why did I modify the tail.
