Moving your Posts from another site to MSC

Hey folks,

A lot of questions have come up about moving personal posts from one site to another...mainly MHI to MSC. Hopefully this might help explain what to do a little better.

I thought, maybe, there was a way to move the entire thread.

I have to say, I'm not a big fan of proboards - too many ads! I have done several phpbb forums and am now the admin of an invisions power board forum - dsoforums.net

Still it's the best modeling forum I've found!

Happy to see you made things move around okay. It is a shame that the data does not transfer seamlessly between phpbb and the proboards platforms. Dealing with the ads is an unfortunate item we have to deal with here. For many, this does not seem to bother them too much as they make their way around the site...I guess we all become a little numb to them after a while!

I don't know of any boards that you can move your threads to a new site, there are some that you can move the whole board to a new one (IE: phpbb to IPB), but it's not free.

The ad's aren't that big of a deal and I'm sure I'll get used to the navigation, I've just gotten so used to my invision power board. It is the only board I've spent any time on for the last seven years.

Keep in mind I'm old and on medication!

Understand Completely Mule...the being used to the streamline attributes of the paid versions ...and probably the medication end of it too!!

Strange as we had the free version(s) for years now and honestly had more complaints when things went add-free on the upgraded paid site. More complacency than anything else really. We all get used to stuff no matter the platform and it gets hard to change. We are working to streamline some items here so it makes it easier to navigate. Not always easy with established Cats/Boards/sub-boards and sub-sub-boards...LOL!! We are working on it! A little bit here and there and things will get better I'm sure!!
