Off to a great start on the Tamiya kit there Tobias! Looks like it's the typical 'shake and bake' when it comes to fit and engineering.

Do you plan to motorized it? Could be fun!

No, it will be to heavy for painting and it makes no sense, because it will drive only in one driection. I´ll put the tank onto a small WWI base.

NICE! I'm on the fence... a Mark IV or the Tadpole?
Are we doing a camo scheme on this?

Thanks guys. It´s the "normal" Mark IV and it´ll be painted in a Brown colour only. No camo was used 1917/18.

Well guys, I stopped by the hobby shop to get some paint and saw they had the Tamiya Mark IV and thought, what the heck! I had it in my grubby little hands for only a few seconds when the price tag knocked me off my feet. $99.99 I was sick! Umm, no. I'll snag one off eBay for about $50.00 bucks and 8 dollars shipping. The box is very heavy but not worth 100 bucks! SO! They were demoing some micro quads ( I call them mini-drones) and I fell in love with them! Then the sticker price of only 29 bucks didn't make me see the floor again.... I BOUGHT IT! HA HA! I did forget my coupons but that just means another trip, huh! So off to the store to get AAA batteries while the vehicle charges up. (BTW... nice work on the MK IV Tobias ) Jeff

Thanks Tobias for showing the Takom/Tamiya comparison I've been hoping to stumble over one. I had it in my grubby little hands for only a few seconds when the price tag knocked me off my feet. $99.99 I was sick! I'm in the same boat. I've been wanting to build a Mark IV since I was a kid, but for around that kind of money I could be getting one of Tamiya's 1/32 game changer kits (mustang/spitfire/corsair/zero) or the 1/35 Dragon Wagon. The IV is a pretty simple rhombus shape, I can't imagine it was nearly as difficult to create compared to the similarly priced kits I listed. I'm not saying the kit or Tobias' build don't look fantastic because they really do. I just wish it'd been offered in a cheaper non-motorized version. Cheers #57

I páyed only 60 € with 5 figures for it. I think, that´s ok for that kit.

Making good progress on this one Tobias, looking forward to seeing it with paint on!
Tamiya stuff here in the US is always high-priced...but 60 EUR works out to about $75 USD depending on the exchange rate so that's not bad at all considering.

On Ebay in Germany it was sell with 45 € an 15 €shipping from Japan. But I bought it direct in Germany. Not cheap but a great kit to build. I painted the primer on and now working on the main colour. Pictures soon.

Was at the show today... saw several Tamiya kits but lowest asking price was $97. YIKES! Others were over $100... oh boy, I hope one day they sell it without the motor since I don't need it.
