Some really nice work there Satch....one minute, you show one bogie.....next ,you gotta whole Shermie.....How'd that happen? I do have a question tho',as a total Shermie novice....Didn't they all have the 'slider' track guides,or whatever they were, adjacent to the top rollers?

Hey Satch the shermi is coming on fast i agree with you totally on the pigment issues it is a hard thing to master i think you have done alright one thing i have found is i use a really thinned Tamiya Buff in my AB for dust then round hatch etc i use pigments in white spirit once this dries i then use a dry flat brush and spread it round more if i have put too much on i hope i have explained clearly enough and this works for me as it might not for others keep up the good work

Do light coats and leave it to dry before adding another this way theres no way of over doing.

Now that is a dusty Shermie ey ;D ;D ;D, looks cool mate, and as Dan says: don't be afraid of the Tamiya Buff method. Just thin it heavily and do as Dan says, it really isn't hard ^^
Cheers

Well, finally made a start for the GB build I begin with the suspension. Dragon gives you choice wether you want the suspension to be fixed or to be workable, I chose the latter this time. I also made a start on the sprockets and that's pretty much it I also bought a suitable figure some time ago: Cheers

faces are bad enough to do but doing that much skin would scare me. i have one figure with his shirt off and it will be a long long time before he sees paint

Satch that is a really nice sherman build. The texture of the cast is superb. On the pigments i think you would be a lot more satisfied if you use a Large soft brush and brush over it to take some of the stark contrast away. Pigments take a while to master.Remember they look a lot different when dry than when you apply them. At that stage i would blend them out and then apply some dry to further blend. If you are new to them i would suggest diluting them to a very weak ratio and dry between coats. Let them flow around the details rather than paint it on. Hope this helps you, cheers.

had a bit more time today. Since I'm working during the nights this week I got some spare time in the afternoon. I started with the fun bit of German armour: gazillion roadwheels ;D ;D This kit also canibalizes the Friultracks which I built for the previous African Tiger I. Some lovely weld mark detailing on this kit...and as you can see the suspension is fully workable Cheers

how did you get teh suspension to work? was it by cutting off teh little pin at teh back of teh axel thing?

Spud: yup mate, remove the little pins and don't glue the suspension fixed on the hull and voila: movable jackwagon: thanks a lot fella . Actually I do messy, but I tend to take my photos in such a manner that it doesn't show ;D Cheers
