Hello friends, The Comet's nearly done and I'm still in the mood for another tracked range target. You gotta love this pink beauty, one remark however, this isn't a Cromwell but a Cavalier, Cromwell's predecessor. I go for the general look of this pink Cavalier and make a pink Cromwell IV instead. I will make an open rear deck, with a built in Meteor engine (Accurate Armour resine). The rubber tracks were classified vertically in the bin and metal Friuls are ready to be assembled. I will use the Tamiya kit wheels, as many Cromwell IV pics show these. Ready to rock in pink boys ? I am ! Best regards ! AG (why so serious ?)

Great stuff there G!! Looking forward to seeing You must be joking T ! I might be pushing it with the color Pink being your color....but no joking at all about the build!! Fantastic idea! Love the forgotten look with the added range feel and to be honest, the pink is pretty cool!! Or "Pretty" cool!! LOL!! Different and has many interesting qualities!!

Thanks fellas, I have to say that I stripped the turret because I think it can be done better. The next pic shows the turret fitted onto the hull before stripping, and the 90% finished rear deck showing the Meteor lump. The coming days I will try to make a better looking turret but pink really is not easy to work with... Meanwhile I've painted the wheels. Best regards, have a great (modelling) weekend ! AG.

The pink is not easy to deal with I know now. After seven tries I give up on this difficult color. I was satisfied with most of the seven results but not 100%. It's hard to find the harmony between the color and the variety of rust tones. In the future I'll give it another try but for now I stick with the faded greens. I'm sorry fellas, the pink panzer was one bridge too far I'm afraid. I keep going with this project until it's done and 100% OK to me. I purchased paper plants for the setting and I can hardly wait to start assembling them, they look stunning.

I can see how pink would pose some unique challenges especially when trying to combine with other rust/oxidization tones...but if it's not working out and you need some distance before tackling again, nothing wrong with that! Ultimately it's your build and you need to be happy with it one way or the other. Sounds like the paper plants are the perfect diversion too.

Thanks for your replies friends. Yesterday I've painted the turret in a faded green using the hairspray method, I think it's a good match with the colors in the engine bay. Pics follow soon, tomorrow I will try to start the hull paintjob, first a couple of rust tones, then hairspray and faded green (water thinned Tamiya acrylics).

Been there, done that G.It is a difficult color and I must say that the pics you posted looked spot on to me. no that your doing a faded green I think you will have a lot more fun with this model.

Thanks guys, the turret got my attention again but as I said, it's faded green this time, I promise to go for a pink Cromwell again in the near future. Still a bit to do before I call this part done... Nice weekend guys !

Hi Andy, thanks bro, I think it's all in the layers and color tones to build a nice looking rusty model. It's up to you to tell me it looks good. I try to do the best I can and meanwhile I'm having the time of my life in the hobbyroom ! The green looks very pale but it will darken when I apply Clear later... Best regards ! AG.

Thanks fellers ! Sorry for the bad photo of today's work, I added a dirty oil wash combined with a pinwash. Yesterday I've applied Clear over the chipped paint (hairspray method). Next week many things will be done to make it rusty. Best regards ! AG
