Absolute simply amazing! With your sills I would love to see you doing some kind of modern labor with tons of electronic equipment, just the way like in those RESIDENT EVIL games. And I scupt the figures, hehe!

The level of details in your work is unbelievable. You make really art. I wish, I could make such good dioramas, like you. Great job!

i never realized this was outdoors, i just assumed you had perfected natural light indoors. so i went to your site (yay google). wow. what an undertaking! its amazing. amazing. ahhhh-maaaaay-ziinnnnng. i noticed the foundation and such was mostly concrete and rock but with the buildings, does weather fight you?

Thanks!
Yes, weather is always an issue outdoors. Here in sunny San Diego the two biggest problems are the sun, which causes UV damage (fading paint, brittle plastic); and the occasional small hail in winter, which tends to wear of paint on upper surfaces and can damage some of the more delicate plastic plants.
But I'm defenseless in the battle of model vs nature. I've learned which materials and paints hold up best to sun, rain and hail. I also coat almost everything with Krylon UV-resistant clear and that makes a big difference in protecting against UV damage.

I've started making the interior details for the barbershop, beginning with the chair. The base of the chair is made from a cast-resin metal lampshade I bought at the club swap meet a few years ago. I sanded down the rim of the shade, then filled the underside with epoxy putty: The chair itself was made from various bits of Sintra PVC foam board, plus some styrene strips, and detailed with nut/bolt/washer castings from Grandt Line: That's it for now, more later.

Look at this construction site and admire the ability to create a small world!!! Painstaking work with minor (seemingly) little things make its truly alive. The impression that I look at the present building. Looked with great pleasure Ray - good luck!

Thanks guys!
Since I finished the chair, I've been too busy with "real life" stuff to get any modeling done. And already-full schedule for the week ahead just got busier thanks to our refrigerator deciding that now would be a good time to start making Really Bad Sounds.
