Hi guys the title might be mis-leading as this is quite a boring process in making buckets . Im making these in 1/72 but you could use this method for other scales . First cut a strip of thin card to the depth that suits your scale , then find something conical to wrap the card around .... I used a paint brush .............. Fix the edge and hold in place until set ........... Trim and do a basic clean up ... the main clean up will be once the bottoms are fixed to the buckets......... Cut another strip of card for the bottoms , dab the bucket bases in glue and fix . I will let this set overnight so I can trim and sand without too much fuss . Thats all for now as Im at the overnight stage lol

Thanks for the bucket making SBS Deano!! I suppose one could do the same with thin brass shim stock and maybe even solder the joint! INow I have to make some plastic buckets to give this a shot! Thank again!!

Hi fellas , another update here ..... the bases of the buckets have now been trimmed and placed onto a piece of sticky tape so they dont blow about . With the insides painted the buckets were then placed onto sticks for the exterior painting . Next will be fitting the handles .

Looking good Deano! Now the big question!!!!what are you going to use all those buckets for? Glad you like the progress guy's , good question Leon ... now I mostly build Panzers and hanging on the back of those Panzers there is usually a bucket . I think they add a little bit of realism to a build , these are cheap and easy to build ..... not as detailed as AM products but feel they do the job .

Ok guys , adding the handle is the last stage as it is a delicate operation ................. First of all carefully drill two holes close to the top edge of the bucket , this is for the handle . Im using fuse wire for the handle but you can use whatever you wish to suit your scale . Cut and shaped ready to go , leave a little extra onto the handle so once through the holes you can bend to fix..... Job done and the handle is workable , I now have another ten to finish but will add the handles as and when I need them ....... All it needs now is to be weathered !

FREAKING AWESOME! You saved yourself money for not ordering PE sets... it looks good and it will look even better once weathered.

Yeah, a real cool idea! Imagine what you can do else with this technique! Create colour pots with colour inside for small sets when something has to be painted in a little scene varying the heights of the pots, or flower pots of any kind or diameter (or for some creepy stuff: pots with filled in sculpted inestines and buckets of blood for some sinister agyptian mummy scenes. Hell, thats the deal!) And mucho more!
