Hi Shay, you definitely have an affinity with groundwork, you have treated us to some superb examples in your posts above, well done mate! I love the use of the liquorice sticks for small logs, they are on tomorrows shopping list. Pooh and Piglet have turned out great, and when they are on the base they will be a very whimsical model indeed. Your little bottle shaker will love them. Thanks for posting. Dennis

Shay, my friend, this is totally perfect work!! "Not satisfied with the base"? You must talk about something I have not seen till yet! The Pooh Base is so sweet, so harmonic, comic like in the best possible way, it is warm like spring and all I want is to see Pooh and Piglet sitting there. Beeing a Basefan too I love the stuff you did here. But thats something you know already!
The Zombieset from Master Box is on my list, too, but I guess it might not be as good as we might think. I have sculpted two Zombies several years ago, based on two elder Tamiya soldiers and I miss the guts on the MB figures... We will see!

Hi guys, Late reply, unfortunately work has taken up a lot of my time and my neck seized up during the week so no time at the work bench. Thankyou all very much for checking my stuff out again!! @frank, I had a lot of trouble trying to get the composition right with this small scene. I first tried using Heiki grass but it just didn't look realistic. This was then replaced with a grass "mat" which was placed in patches allowing space for the various other elements. At this point I was getting frustrated because it felt like I was hitting a brick wall idea wise. Which coloured flowers look best, which plants etc. etc. This happens EVERY time I'm at the workbench, I mean when you look at some of the caliber of our peers on the forum you want to be able to post something that looks as natural as possible!! That's my own personal view... I am by no means a perfectionist but am trying with each project to be better than the last!! Once again guys, I appreciate your valuable input and comments Shay

Yeah, I know those pains creeping in the brain when it comes to be as good as possible. That goes in a special way for Bases! Sometime I will do JUNGLE. And when I die doing it!! Hopefully you will be back on the bench soon because I love what you do!

First off the bat..thanks so much Wout for the "heads up" about this forum..I feel right at home!! Man, this place just fits in totally with the way I approach things...advice to boot, a nudge in the right direction and some friendly humour along the way!! Frank mate, you should really get that 1/6 Alien in a jungle scene!! Just think of all of the extra work involved...sculpting will be the least of your worries!!haha I can see the thread in my mind ...Franks projects Alien vs Predator sculpt /jungle diorama scene 1/6!!
Project Pooh is officially done, in the meantime I have added an extra fine base to the existing one and am still deciding on a printable title which will be placed on it. Hopefully a photo or two over the next day or so...not totally to my satisfaction which means more emphasis and dedication to my next project! It has been my first sculpting attempt ever and I appreciate the knowledge and skills the other members have passed onto me directly/indirectly. Thankyou to everyone who has followed my stuff so far! Cheers, Shay

Shay, a title for Pooh? What about HONEY MOON? Harhar, doing a Pred in 1:6 scale would kill me indeed. Not so the jungle, but thinking about all trees and plants have to be done entirely from scratch, argh, double dead I guess...
And yep, your work is very good and I cannot wait to see your next projects to discuss here. Keep it going Brother!

Thanks Frank!! When I mentioned title I was referring to the "title plate" I want to place on the font of my piece. I have a few quotes from A.A Milne that could work...something which shows what Pooh and Piglet are talking about. Otherwise they just look like two figures sitting in a peaceful place!! Just trying to tie everything together for a better understanding of what I wish to portray. And yes, we will have a lot to discuss here with my future sculpting projects!!
Joe, thanks for the kind words mate! I just wish that my figure painting went as fast as my groundwork!! After figures I really enjoy getting stuck into a vignette, composition isn't always easy to achieve! Cheers Shay

First off, thanks to everyone who has been following my thread so far! Finally placed the figures on the base, it hasn't turned out exactly how I wanted but that's the way it goes with some projects! It has been an interesting path trying out sculpting for the first time and trying to get these two on a half decent looking base. Just waiting on a metal title plate to attach to the base! Apologies for the photo quality , pretty murky day here in Belgium!

Thanks a lot guys!! Frank...Thanks for the kind words brother!! I have so many ideas at the moment after catching the sculpting bug!! After seeing the stuff you produce it gives me a lot of inspiration and makes me want to try something (gulp) sci fi out Todd...it has been a fun project! I never really went in to it too seriously but once the base started coming together...I had to get these guys in the scene. All part of the learning curve!! Coro & Leon...thankyou both for your comments!! This scene isn't exactly everyones cup of tea, my modeling styles vary so much so I'm just uber happy I can put what I do, out here on the forum! Cheers, Shay

Thanks Andy!! I have a lot of respect for what you guys do..after seeing your gallery pics there is a reason why I don't try subs or av's, I just don't have the knack for it! Too many parts to put together lol! Give me a body, two arms and legs anyday ;-)

Yeah, I would love to do some tanks, but when I think of whats up to be done there... Heck, I leave it to the pros here, definitly and stay at whats my possession: sculpting and building figures. Shay, anytime you start let me know when there arise problems. Nothing is too difficult to be solved!
