WHY aren´t you happy with the figure? Make some more contrast on the camouflage and bingo! I love and hate painting camouflage uniforms, the shading and highlighting of EVERY colour several times ruins my nerves, but you have to do it!

First, let me echo the others who have praised your efforts on this figure. Once you have a figure wearing his Zeltbahn you're pretty much stuck with painting camouflage. If there's anything that will stop me from even thinking about doing a figure it's camouflage cloth - the only thing worse is tartan... It's not so bad on big figures or busts, and you can get away with approximations on wargame scale stuff, but anywhere between 1:48th and 1:24th scales and it's a horror story. I'm impressed with how well you've done. I hope you won't mind me being a bit picky - if the chap is wearing the zeltbahn over a plain reversible parka, shouldn't the hood of the parka match the sleeves as seen on the forearms? O.K., folks, what's the derogatory equivalent of "Rivet Counter" when it comes to uniforms? Cheers, M

Hi Tobias, this little fellow in the Zeltbahn looks pretty good to me, what with the rain pattern this is a difficult camo pattern to portray in 1/35th and IMHO you have made a good start. I recently bought this book which is mostly about plastic and some resin figures in 1/35th scale. Title: The Paint Guide to Figures of WW2 By: Joaquin Garcia Guazquez. Published by Histoire and Collections. ISBN: 978-2-35250-298-2. This is really good book with lots of hints, tips and examples, Mr Guazquez is a brilliant painter. I believe now he has also written a companion book on WW2 Armour. Keep them coming mate and well done. Dennis

O.K., folks, what's the derogatory equivalent of "Rivet Counter" when it comes to uniforms? A friend of mine who is a Civil War/Wild West re-enactor says they are called 'stitch nazis'!

Man, did you SPRAYPAINT the comouflage? Looks really fine and detailed now! What I like too is the mud on the boots, very convincing. So you have to create a base with mud, too. HEHE!

The figures are coming along nicely Tobias! I agree with Frank..a nice muddy base with some Autumn leaves blown about the place...will really bring that camo to life.

Nice progress Tobias! One thing that stood out to me in a good way was the variations you have in the helmets. That's a niche touch IMHO.

Hi Tobias, I can only echo what the other guys have said, I have never tried camo except on German W.W.1 helmets but you actually airbrushed them?!Wow!! I admire the speed at which you work, I wish I was that fast!! Enjoy the weekend mate Shay

Thanks Shay. I only airbrushed the swamp camo, the rest ist painted with a brush. And if I don´t paint fast, it´ll become an other unfinished Shelfqueen. The Black dog Base has arrived:

The base is not bad. I could be more flat on the button, but it´ll work out.
