So, to show you gents some progress here's a photo of the Panther with the Transfers in place: I think I placed the turretnumbers a bit too low but I'll leave things as is. Concerning the balkenkreuzen and the turretnumbers...The idiot I am, I first sprayed some Tamiya Clear on the areas where the decals would be placed. Then I cut out the turretnumbers and held them in water for about 30-40 seconds...but they didn't release from the carrier film! Only then it came to my mind that my turretnumbers where from the Archer brand, and were dry transfers in stead of decals...d'OH! Luckily I could get them transferred on the Panther when they were dry again...typical Cheers

Fine looking Kitty Wouts!! He he...pretty sure each any every one of us has a couple of mix-ups under our belts!! At least you recognized the problem quickly! LOL!! Would have be a horrible thing to spend two hours trying to figure out why the transfers were not water slide!

DRY transfers Wout ! It looks good mate, the red pops out but with a couple of washes and dust the numbers will perfectly blend in.

Gawd, glad you like her gents, thanks for the heads up! ^^ About a week ago I started painting the tools and exhaust in their respective basecoats. After that I applied a filter to the camouflage scheme. Yesterday and today I started adding pinwashes: yesterday MIG Brown Wash, and today Dark wash in some areas. Cheers

I think I'll paint it primerred...though, I reckon, with tracks in place and after weathering not much of will be visible, if any Cheers

Leon, thanks a lot chap ^^ Andy, pop with capitals ey...blimey, thanks a lot bud Guy, thanks bud, yeah a pinwash can really start to set it off ey. Nice that you love the subtle unpainted wheel, thanks Hi Bootsey, much appreciated bud, thank you (and you building anything lately?) Well, I did some more today. On some areas on the barrel paint flaked off...so today I primed those areas again and sprayed on a layer of Tamiya Buff (I'm out of DY ) After that I started with the chipping process. I tried to restrain myself this time. I like heavy chipping, but this time less is more I think. Some areas represent flaked off pieces of zimmerit, those received a light greyish coat (deck tan) to resemble some layer of zimmerit apparant still remaining in place. Next step is to continue to paint the tools. Especially the metal areas I find very hard to look convincing...we'll see. Any hints are welcome though. Cheers

Wout, maybe this helps to paint the metal parts...
To get the metal right you can work from dark metal to light metal, the darkest metal brushpainted and the following drybrushed, it works for me. I prefer Humbrol enamels.

Sexy!! Love the looks of this one Wouts....but you knew that!! G has a spot on approach! Worth a shot! I tend to try and paint black first, followed with some steel pigments rubbed in then hit the edges with a pencil...lightly rub it across the surface too works...or run the pencil on some sandpaper and take a Q-tip (bud) and have at it. If too bright, hit it with a light wash, should tone it down.

Guy, T and Bill, thanks for the heads up and the help for the tools...it's quite helpful and will give that a go! Boots, are you going to share some here too? Sadly can't give you any feedback since I'm not allowed to see your thread bud (guess that goes for each and everyone of us not being at that forum) Hi Wingster! Glad you like it and nice to read both the booze and the Panther give you warm feelings (hope it's not the fact that you drank too much and were wetting yourself . Glad you like the primered wheel too ^^ Cheers
