My modern Military armor collection

Here are some of my scratchbuilt and/or heavily modeified model collection which have since been sold or destroyed. Most of you may have seen these on other forums. for those who have not seen these then all the better:

This is a small vignette with a mast and scratch built Pine Trees:

Been working on this for some time now and still got a little brushing up and small details to add before I am satisfied. Oh yeah, will be adding a figure or two.

The inspiration for this little vignette comes from a photo I had seen on the net. I think it was taken in Afghanistan. So far this is my interpretation of such a scene of an IED Humvee attack; The name of the dio would be announced after I decide on the figures:

Been updating this little bugger for a while now. I'm planning on adding a mount of the second fuel tank on the left side, but omit the tank itself. The armor tells the story of the early part of the Iraq WAR, when crews were into field mods protective armor to protect themselves. The worn down heavy dirty look of this tractor shows the hardship and improvisation it has gone through... I left the roof and engine cover off to make for an interesting model.

So I went from a scratch built LAV III to a destroyed and rusty LAV III. I had seen many tanks being modelled as damaged or completely destroyed and was curious to see how a LAV III would look, since I have not seen any modelled before. So here are some pics of a scratch built LAV III that I built and now, I have turned it into a Completely destroyed and rotten down vehicle. You can see what it looked like before and after. Just a small note. The bottle on the antenna was removed after the pics were taken.

This was a test I was doing in 1/24 scale. I just started building 1/24 trucks last year. So far it's been fun:

This is a small dio that somewhat depicts vehicles fallen to IED's or heavy attacks which left them totally destroyed and unusable. I had seen quite a few pics of badly damaged vehicles, beyond repairs, just put into a heap or collected together and placed into a 'Junkyard' type for damaged vehicles. So this is my loose representation of such yards during the Iraqi War...

This dio was the original 'Bone Yard dio. I decided to scrap this one for a more compact (smaller) version, hence the present dio. Check the pics out:

enough already...............sheesh. Talk about making me want to build some modern stuff...this is it. I can't pick a favorite, they are all freakin awesome. Was thinking the HEMTT's were the best until I scrolled further down. Damn that's some great modeling.

Hey Charles....I missed you signing up here,but it's really good to see some of your builds over here......I was missing them on MM,when I used to go there more often....at least here they will possibly be appreciated a bit more!! ;D

Nice to catch up on some of the stuff you've done recently Charles! Also neat to see some of the old favorites make a reappearance as well. The Bone Yard has to be one of my favorites in the set, no question about it.
