This is very nice! I really like the paintjob. I'm a sucker for desert camo's.

Thank you, helco. I love desert schemes too. They just look cool for some reason despite their simplicity, huh? So, I don't know why I even photography the filter stage...they NEVER translate to what my naked eye sees for some reason. First was a very light filter of brown (I'm wanting to say burnt sienna, but I'm drawing a blank). That was followed later by dot filters. Concentration mostly on light colors to bleach things out. Again, it's totally not translating in photos...or maybe I'm not seeing it because I'm used to it? Who knows. Knocked off a flap, but that dang oily residue needs to dry up before I want to handle it too much. Up next, more clear and then some aggressive washing perhaps.

I'm definitely seeing it,especially on the outer wings. I need to learn this technique, especially for the larger scale stuff.
How do you keep the filters out of the panel lines? Or do you rely on washes later to cover them?

Thanks for looking in, gentlemen. Dupes, I'm most definitely seeing it with fresh eyes now. As for the filters in panel lines...I've just never really noticed it causing much of a problem. They are so thinned out that they don't usually seem to have an effect. If I ever did have trouble I'd just touch up I guess. It'd probably make more sense to do the filter then the panel line wash...now that I think about it.

Filters often need a little bit of time for their full effect to come out. Sometimes, depending on their colors and application, they don't fully reveal themselves until AFTER the dull coat is applied I've found. Looking good from here Jimmy, just don't forget about your flap casualty.

Thanks, sir. Hopefully I'm not senile enough to forget about that flap...at least not yet I think you're right about the filters though. That's pretty much what happened here I think: Being separated from this build by a few months now I think it is probably overdone. I did like three rounds of dot filtering thinking it wasn't showing through the dark colors. Frankly when I took the final pics and loaded them I was shocked by the effect on the wing tops.

An impressive result all around Jimmy. Got to love the subtle variations on both the topside and underside surfaces.
