Had to cut some strips to cover up some gaps on the fuselage band and around the wing, but nothing major.

Looking good with the decals on! If you've sealed the decals with Future, you shouldn't have any issues with applying the Testors Dullcote over them. I'm assuming you're worried about silvering? If you're going to do any panel washes/weathering, you should do that before you do the dull coat though. Almost finished with this one.

Thanks everyone. I will be applying the dullcote sometime tonight or tomorrow. I am actually trying to decide if I want to weather it. The decals on the wings even with the all of the Micro-Sol will not conform to the details.

What effects are you looking to recreate with the wash? Are you wanting to enhance panel line/rivet detail or do an overall general weathering?

What effects are you looking to recreate with the wash? Are you wanting to enhance panel line/rivet detail or do an overall general weathering? Panels and rivet lines. I believe I did it correctly by applying along panel lines, letting it dry, and then wipng the excess away. Please correct me if I am doing this wrong. I'm at the point of overreadong the process to the point of too much information.

That's a good technique approach that you're applying for the effect you're after. I only asked because in the pics you put up it looked like a good deal of the wash was still present/visible on the finish. I'm assuming now that those were WIP of you applying the wash and letting it dry? It takes a little finesse and trial/error to get just enough of the wash to stay behind. You may need to follow it up with a pin-wash to certain areas as needed if you remove too much for example.

Thats what I was figuring. Wash was more paint than I may need. Good thing that was the test model.

Usually with a wash approach less is more, especially with dark colors on a very light base or metallic surface. Doesn't take much to get the desired effect.

Tried to work on a pin wash last night using craft acrylic paint and water. I have issues seeing a difference, but I wanted to see anyone else notices. With the wash Without the wash Seems to be light on the bottom With the test model!

While not a dramatic difference between the two, I can see a difference at least on my monitor and settings. What color are you using for the pin wash out of curiosity?

Black with some brown mixed in to tone it down.
