Armorguy, you REALLY SHOULD do that! Acrylic painting gives you the creeps in an absolute positve way, you endeavor painting completly new.
Scale 75... I always will try them but how are they workable? They get good critics everywhere...

Now that is figure painting!! Perfect combination of highlights and shadows, excellent stuff mate. Which colour did you use to give the slightly stubble look to his face? I usually use heavily diluted Prussian blue, just wondering about the technique you use. Once again superb painting!! Cheers, Shay

Frank The scale 75 colours dry super matt for me so I tend to mix them with some life colour or vallejo to bring it back to a consistency I am happy with. kiwibelg Many thanks for your kind words, I work in really thin layers, working forwards and backwards between colours, just having fun with the colours until I am happy A wet palette really helps when working with acrylics, It allows for more working time with the colours My colour palette is the following: Medium Blue (Vallejo) Burnt Umber (Vallejo) Burnt Cad. Red (Vallejo) Lifecolor UA 707 & 708 Games workshop 'Tallarn flesh' for a good starting base (I think this is out of production now) Scale colour SC-20 I hope this helps Cheers, Joe

Hey Joe, Thanks for your reply, I have learnt a great deal from the other figure guys here and how each has their own style. It's always interesting to see which colours/ techniques are used. I found a small role playing store which still stock GW colours , will have to try that base tone out soon! Looking forward to seeing the rest of this figures evolution!! Cheers, Shay

No worries kiwibelg I have played around with so many different paints and paint sets etc, but I have found that I have returned to what I originally started out with, with the only addition being one scale 75 paint Cheers, Joe

Thank you kiwibelg Many thanks kaytermarram, I do have a small base planned for this one Hopefully, he will be walking in front of a weathered fence, in a small winter scene. Nothing too overpowering to detract form the figure, just some dry grass, leaves and thorns to compliment the figure Thanks, Joe

Surelly, you must come back with others projects. Acryllics, hey? My style, man! I like your painting style and the results for this figurine, at this scale, are impressive for me too. Keep it on, Joe, can't wait to see the end! Cheers, Nicolae

Small update today, Been working on the base for this one I hope you like it! Feedback is as always, very welcome Started with the fence setting it into a base made from a mixture of generic filler, mixed with brown enamels, which is lightly sprinkled with dirt for texture. Next up I worked on the fence, strangely I worked completely in acrylics with this one, starting with a grey primer before thin glazes on vallejo browns, before a quick few passes of diluted white to imitate chipped paint. Quick test fit... The final product, a cold winter scene. The fence received more glazes of browns, and then some snow crystals to simulate fresh settles snow. The groundwork received a gentle offering of snow, leaves, dry grass, and washes, along with some icy patches. More to follow soon Thanks for your support, Joe
