Hello there folks ! This is a very promising group build, with all kinds of busts, so it's clear I'm going to have a blast with all of you ! Here's my first bust project, Andrea Miniatures "After The Battle": The head and body were molded as one piece, the helmet is a white metal one, as is the half sword to be glued onto his back. Not many parts = not much to clean = MORE painting fun ! I think I can start cleaning up tomorrow, my viral infection is still there despite the battery of medication I have to take. Best regards and again, have fun friends ! AG.

Seems like half of Belgium has had this damn viral infection! Second day for me and it's enough...Hope you are on the mend. On the positive side though seeing busts such as your choice have lifted my spirits!! I have seen this particular bust at a show a while back, it is a fantastic one mate. Looking forward to seeing you bring that battered war look to life! Shay

Guy, is one of my favorites, too, hope, one day, to attack. One of my Romanian friends finished last year, so I'm sure it will give a lot of satisfaction. Have a good start! Nic

You make my day friends ! Shay, it was the amazing painted war look of the box art that completely seduced me ! About the viral infection, I still have to deal with it, even after five days of heavy anti biotic medication. Tomorrow I'll go to work and sacrifice myself in a way, I can't stay sick at home forever. Today I start cleaning and assembling the parts, right after breakfast tsjakkaaaaaa ! Have a nice weekend ! AG.

The white metal parts and the resin bust were cleaned. There was a seam on his back so I had to smoothen this which wasn't difficult with a round knife tip and sanding paper. And I gave the resin part two grey Humbrol enamel base layers, the first very thin by soft brush, the second by airbrush with low air pressure to avoid a rough texture. Best regards ! AG

Looking forward to seeing the rest of your creative process, Shay

Today I've applied some basic skin color (Humbrol Mat 61 (Flesh) + Humbrol Mat 34 (White). I airbrushed it in very thin layers with low air pressure. Tomorrow I'll paint the eyes. Best regards ! AG.

AWESOME! Now it has officially began... Hi Andy, isn't that a quote from Lord Of The Rings ? "Now it has began !" I hope you'll never say to me : "Is this all you have Saruman ?" I think he's a mean medieval machine nicusi ! The first skin tone indeed Shay, and more to come my friend ! I'm so into figures and busts I think of selling my armor stash !

Thanks friends ! This afternoon I painted the pupils of the eyes, in a bluegrey Humbrol with a sharp brush. I applied a couple of flesh tones with Humbrol just for the fun of it. Next to apply are the oils for the finishing of the eyes. After that I can start painting the flesh tones with oils. * I had to make a small correction on the guy's right eye, there was a small sag in its corner. Milliput and a toothpick did the job in two minutes. Best regards ! AG.

Straight to eyes you are doing! Not me... I usually avoid it until the very end. LOL This time I might be brave enough...

Hi Andy, once the eyes are done the look is for 50% in the pocket, that's why I start painting them first.

I agree... working on eyes always make me nervous thats why I always wait til the end but often I found myself re-working on the skin around the eye again. No kidding!
Keep it coming my beret wearing buddy!

Forget the beret Andy, here's S-hellman ! Nice shellfie no ? Or do you prefer Ger-man ? It's difficult to wear the shell while I paint, it's a matter of balance you know...maybe I'll stick to Ger-man ?

He is really starting to take shape Guy! I also prefer to get the eyes out of the way first...in the starting phase it is much easier to get the eyes sorted out in one go, any mistakes are dealt with fast. No relation to Schultz from Hogans Heroes??hehehe Shay
