Hey Coro, Usually I spray the figure with some oven cleaner (comes out of the can like foam) and put it in a strong small plastic bag over night. A little cleaning with an old toothbrush afterwards will get it back to new! Shay

Simple Green works a little faster than windex I find. Alcohol also works as does oven cleaner but that's a bit harsh I think.

You are right Jimmy, I should of mentioned that I only use oven cleaner for white metal figures! My bad Oli! What problems have you been experiencing with your figures? Which medium oils or acrylics?

Simple green is a degreaser. You can find it along with the Windex and other cleaners...in the US at least.

If you need any tips or help with your figures Oli, just let us know at the figure forum! I don't know everything about figure painting but I'm willing to help you out if you need it!! My figures used to be really bad until I did a workshop with Gino Poppe. Luckily enough he eventually joined our club (no longer exists unfortunately) and I will be forever thankful for his insights into the art of figure painting. We are all on a learning curve mate, I have forgotten how many times I have had to restart a figure in the past lol Shay

Any sort of concentrated oven cleaner should work excellent. Even the foaming stuff works well. With the foam, pop what you want to strip in a Ziplock baggie and spray the foam in there and let sit. Then hit it with and old toothbrush...wear some glove as this stuff is fairly caustic.
Trick 2, Denatured Alcohol work too. Plastic bowl and pour it in, drop the piece in, let sit and then use a toothbrush to remove the paint. May take a couple times rubbing around but it will clean it off.
#rd...a bit more volatile but just as bad as using oven cleaner...Lacquer Thinner. Remember ventilation and even a mask if you want, dip the toothbrush in and go to town.
There are some commercially sold cleaners that work really well, but, they are not the easiest to find at you LHS!

uh oh... i tried the lacquer thinner already... bad idea... it screws up the plastic figures... :-( ;-)
for my luck i tried it only at one of the boots and realized fast enough that it softens the plastic also

I swear by "Purple-Power" - I score mine on the cheap at Big-Lots. It's what I use (Which has been a lot lately LOL) when I mess up on trying to do a shiny civilian build.
