Hello MSC,
I created the MSC Build Reviews section as a place where newly released kits can be shown in a "Build Review" format. The thread will contain an In Box review of the kit accompanied by a building of the kit to discuss the various highs and lows that the build reviewer see with a particular kit. MSC BUILD REVIEWBy EastrockMeng Cougar 6x6 MRAP ER will be giving his own In Box review of this kit right here on MSC, beginning very soon. Be sure to Bookmark this thread and follow along as he takes us into the kit along with his step by step process of building the Meng Cougar 6x6 MRAP kit.

Dang...that's some serious machinery. Maybe if I had a full scale version I could get through traffic around here. Looking forward to seeing this one come together. Should be an impressive undertaking. Cool to see the site/forum expanding in this way too.

Thanks Todd, for starting up the tread!!! and also thank you for checking out guys!!! Just a brief history of the Cougar. The Cougar is a South African-designed United States MRAP and infantry mobility vehicle structured to be resistant to landmines and improvised munitions. Was developed by the U.S company Force Protection Inc. is an armored vehicle which can withstand roadside bombs attacks and ambushes. Powered by a 330ho caterpillar C-7 Diesel engine; uses a 6x6 chassis, and max speed up to 105km/h and can carry up 10 people. in 2004, Cougar started to serve in U.S. Armed forces, mainly used for patrol, transporting troops, commanding, towing, engineering and rescuing. also in the same year October 2004 the U.S. 1st Marine Div took part in the Battle of Fallujah. KIT INFO 1/35 STEGOSAURUS SERIES SS-005 The kit has 2 variants transport and HEV (Hardened Engineer Vehicle) all doors has the option of open /closed, roof gun mount is rotatable. a sheet of PE included. Length: 226mm Width 79mm Manual Instruction consist of 31 pages, shows a brief history of the Cougar on the first 2 pages, with four languages (Mandarin, English, Japanese and Russian) the instruction are detail but best is to study each step... and plan ahead of what variant you would like to build. The lower hull close up where the indents of the possible C variant Upper Hull as you can see in the pic details are crisp, just need fill and sand a bit of the mold marks in the interior if you planning for open doors option. Cheers!!! To be continued....

Hi Leon, I'm getting more space on the table and its easier work on the cougar a small progress on the Cougar Build Sprue E and F, shows the separation of 2 variants, Meng had them organize without running around with different sprue trees, keeps you focus on the build. Sprue E Sprue F On this part Step 5 on the Rear Axle assembly, the fitting are great!!! with minimal seam lines that can be manage, details on the rear axle wheel shows the rivets, nuts and bolts, would do not much weather on this kit just a light sand dust and not much cake. the picture speaks for itself CheerS!!!

What a vehicle! I follow this with interest and have put this thing on my wishlist. Do not know exactly, but I think I have seen such a car in the movie DISTRICT 9, and having this alien battle droid it would be cool to combine both of them with the soldiers. OK, back to real stuff! I am very curious how you will proceed!

Small update: A sheet of PE and decals on the fuel assembly step you need to put the PE part on the kit part due to its very thin and brittle, its also a safe way to cut it with a sharp blade. and here's the finish Fuel Assembly and this conclude step 7 on the kit. Cheers!!
