Ok, managed more work today guys. I focused on the exhausts and shrouds as well as the damaged areas of zimmerit. For the zimmerit i wanted to create the look of old damage and newer, the old damage being where the crew would have applied new paint over the damaged area at some point. I also wanted a more convincing look to chipped zimmerit and i deliberately didn't go over board with red oxide primer that was used on panzer's. I wanted a look where only a little red oxide is visible through a cement type texture. Here i've applied red oxide (vallejo cavalry brown) A while later i then dry brushed on some vallejo stone grey to create the look i wanted Here's "old" battle damage Next up was the exhaust stacks and their shrouds. Many pics will show these shrouds get a bit of a hard time and they usually show them full of holes and well beaten up almost to the point of looking like old bits of scrap! Careful use of a lighter created a bit of a bash in one and a small drill gave me some bullet holes. A small wire brush on the drill gently pressed against the shrouds created some scratches and scores across the surface of what was nothing more than sheet metal on the real thing. Next up will be the wash stage and a fair bit more detailing before i start throwing mud about! Then it'll be on to the tracks and spare track links. Thanks again for looking and all comments and questions welcome. Stuart.

HOLY SMOKES! Another 1/16 build... you are lucky if you have plenty of space for all of your 1/16 builds. I am impressed how the kit is packed inside the box... I thought I felt the ground shaking around me! gary
